Green synthesis of gold NPs by using dragon fruit: Toxicity and wound healing
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In this work, the study of Hylocereus undatus properties was done by studying quantitative phytochemical compounds and seeking for total phenolic compounds, synthesis of gold nanoparticles was created via reduction of aqueous gold ions with the aqueous fruit extract of The Hylocereus undatus (dragon). The synthesized AuNPs were asserted by using (Uv-Vis) spectrophotometer; Fourier transforms infrared (FI-IR) spectroscopy, Atomic force microscope (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) Zitasizer. The absorbance for SPR is noticed in 546 nm by using Uv-Visible spectroscopy The SEM and AFM analysis evidenced the particle size between 35-100nm, and spherical in structure. Mechanisms of AuNPs synthesis had been suggested and free radical scavenging activity was examined quantitatively by thin-layer chromatography and quantitatively by DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picsylhydrazyl) assay. The biosynthesized AuNPs showed much higher antioxidant activity compared to The Hylocereus Undatus fruit extract alone. The toxicity of the nanoparticles and extract was examined by giving all of them at dose 50mg\b.w orally to mice and the diagnosis of the result of pathological changes, which showed that both extracts are simple toxicity. So, the results confirmed that the fruit extract was a good bio reductant for the synthesis of AuNPs. Which can be applied as good agents for antibacterial applications and Anti-inflammatory and it could be helpful for the preparation of pharmacologically useful drugs.</p>

Estimation of secondary compounds content of some citrus leaves and their relationship by dietary preference for yellow scale insect Aonidiella. Orientalis (Hemiptera: Diaspididae)
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The yellow scale insect Aonidiella orientalis is an important pest of citrus trees as it absorbs sap from leaves and fruits, causing leaves to turn yellow and deform fruits and drop them. The results of study showed nutritional preference of the insect over some of studied citrus species, as sour orange was the most preferred, followed by lemon and grapefruit, mandarin and oranges were least preferred, with a rate of 22.3, 13.3, 11.7, 10.8, 3.9, and insect / 2 inch2, respectively. while results showed a difference in the content of citrus leaves from the secondary compounds, with highest concentration of phenols and total flavonoids in o</p> ... Immunohistochemical evaluation of vascular endothelial growth factor and transforming growth factor-beta on osseointegration of CpTi implant radiated by low level laser therapy
...Show More Authors

Background: Dental implants provide a unique treatment modality for the replacement of lost dentition .This is accomplished by the insertion of relatively inert material (a biomaterial) into the soft and hard tissue of the jaws, there by providing support and retention for dental prostheses. Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is an effective tool used to prompt bone repair and modeling post surgery; this has referred to the biostimulation effect of LLLT. The aims of this study were to evaluate the immmunohistochemical expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor -beta (TGF-β) in experimental and control groups with mechanical test. Free will between Slavery and Freedom: A Study of Linda Brent in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs
...Show More Authors

Harriet Jacobs was a writer and a reformer. As a female writer in the nineteenth century, Jacobs wrote her narrative as a means of resisting the system of slavery. She wrote her book Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl: Written by Herself, (1842) to reflect upon the exploitation of the black people and the need to change the hierarchal attitude that governs white/black relations. She was engaged in many abolitionist events and her anti-slavery approach appeared clearly in her writings. She shares Du Bios ideas about freedom and emancipation and the need for a political and cultural change. Thus, Du Bois’s theory provides a framework for her autobiographical novel where she portrays Linda Brent, the main character, a strong w

Impact of Using Dust / Fiber in Flexible Pavement
...Show More Authors

Flexible paving is the most popular type of paving used in road building and one of the biggest problems facing the world's paving business is the rising demand for scarce natural resources. Uncontrolled. Numerous studies have shown that secondary materials reduce the need for traditional materials, offer efficient waste disposal technology and lower the overall cost of paving. The current study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of both fibers and dust on the sustainability and cost of flexible pavement by studying each of polyester fibers as a waste of the textile industry and fibers or rubber particles as one of the rubber waste products, in addition to studying the efficiency of using cement dust and marble dust on the paving proc

Spectrophotometric Determination of Chlorpromazine – HCl Using Potassium Permanganate
...Show More Authors

Twosimple, sensitive, accurate, and precise spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of chlorpromazine – HCl in pure form and pharmaceutical formulation. The first method involved treatment of cited drug with a measured excess of permanganate in acid medium and the unreacted oxidant was measured at 525 nm. The second method involves the reaction of the drug with potassium permanganate in the presence of sodium hydroxide to produce a bluish – green colored manganite which is measurable at 610nm. All the experimental variables affecting the development of the manganite ions were investigatedand conditions were optimized. Working linearity ranges were 5-45 µg.mL-1and 1-20 µg.mL-1 by two methods respectively. Th

PHYTOTOXICITY TEST OF KEROSENE-CONTAMINATED SOIL USING BARLEY
...Show More Authors

This study was aimed to determine a phytotoxicity experiment with kerosene as a model of a total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPHs) as Kerosene pollutant at different concentrations (1% and 6%) with aeration rate (0 and 1 L/min) and retention time (7, 14, 21, 28 and 42 days), was carried out in a subsurface flow system (SSF) on the Barley wetland. It was noted that greatest elimination 95.7% recorded at 1% kerosene levels and aeration rate 1L / min after a period of 42 days of exposure; whereas it was 47% in the control test without plants. Furthermore, the percent of elimination efficiencies of hydrocarbons from the soil was ranged between 34.155%-95.7% for all TPHs (Kerosene) concentrations at aeration rate (0 and 1 L/min). Images Compression using Combined Scheme of Transform Coding
...Show More Authors

Some problems want to be solved in image compression to make the process workable and more efficient. Much work had been done in the field of lossy image compression based on wavelet and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). In this paper, an efficient image compression scheme is proposed, based on a common encoding transform scheme; It consists of the following steps: 1) bi-orthogonal (tab 9/7) wavelet transform to split the image data into sub-bands, 2) DCT to de-correlate the data, 3) the combined transform stage's output is subjected to scalar quantization before being mapped to positive, 4) and LZW encoding to produce the compressed data. The peak signal-to-noise (PSNR), compression ratio (CR), and compression gain (CG) measures were used t
