Aims: To assess the success rate and implant stability changes of narrow dental implants (NDIs) during the osseous healing period. Materials and methods: This prospective observational clinical study included 21 patients with narrow alveolar ridge of restricted mesiodistal interdental span who received NDIs. The alveolar ridge width was determined by the ridge mapping technique. Implant stability was measured using Periotest® M immediately after implant insertion then after 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks postoperatively. The outcome variables were success rate and implant stability changes during the healing period. The statistical analysis included one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey\'s multiple comparisons test, values < 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: Twenty-one patients received 54 implants, the success rate was 92.6% (50/54). The mean ± SD periotest value (PTV) was significantly increased at 4 weeks (7.62 ± 6.39 PTV) compared with primary stability (1.48 ± 3.16 PTV), at 8 weeks (4.46 ± 4.45 PTV). It significantly decreased compared with that at 4 weeks and at 12 weeks (1.82 ± 3.22 PTV); it decreased significantly compared to that at 8 weeks. Conclusion: Narrow dental implants have a high early success rate. The implant stability during the healing period drops significantly in the first 4 weeks postoperatively and then increases steadily in the following weeks to reach to a level close to that of primary stability after 12 weeks. Clinical significance: Narrow dental implants are indicated in cases of insufficient alveolar bone width obviating the need for bone augmentation and reduced interdental space such as in cases of congenitally missing teeth or after orthodontic treatment. Knowledge of the stability changes during the osseous healing period enables the clinicians to determine the optimum time for functional loading.
Background: Dental implants provide a unique treatment modality for the replacement of lost dentition .This is accomplished by the insertion of relatively inert material (a biomaterial) into the soft and hard tissue of the jaws, there by providing support and retention for dental prostheses. Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is an effective tool used to prompt bone repair and modeling post surgery; this has referred to the biostimulation effect of LLLT. The aims of this study were to evaluate the immmunohistochemical expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor -beta (TGF-β) in experimental and control groups with mechanical test. Materials and Methods: Thirty two adult New Zealand white rabbits use

enamel solubility. The objective was to evaluate the effect of fluoride addition on the setting time and
compressive strength of alginate impression materials.
Methodology: 60 samples were constructed from alginate impression material (30 samples for setting
time test and 30 samples for compressive strength test).Specimens of each test divided into three
subgroup. Group A: 10 specimens of alginate were mixed with distilled water [control], Group B: 10
specimens of alginate were mixed with100-ppm fluoride and Group C:10 specimens of alginate were
mixed with 2%Naf.
Results: the result of setting time test showed t
Objective: the aim of this study is to invest age and determine the effect of using (2) packing
technique (conventional and new tension technique) on hardness of (2) types of heat cure acrylic
resin which are (Ivoclar and Qual dental type).
Methodology : this study was intended the using of two types of heat cure acrylic (IVoclar and
Qual dental type) which are used in construction of complete denture which packed in two different
packing technique (conventional and new tension technique) and accomplished by using a total of
(40) specimens in diameter of ( 2mm thickness, 2 cm length and 1 cm width) . This specimens were
sectioned and subdivide into (4) group each (10) specimens for one group , then signed as (A, Al B
Background: The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different bleaching methods on the shear bond strength of orthodontic Sapphire brackets bonded to human premolars teeth using light cured composite resin and to determine the predominant site of bond failure. Materials and Methods: Thirty freshly extracted human premolars were selected and randomly divided into three groups (10 per group). These groups are: control (unbleached) group, hydrogen peroxide group (HP) 37.5% ; which is the in- office bleaching method group, carbamide peroxide group (CP) 16%; which is the at- home bleaching method group. After bleaching process was performed, all the teeth stored in distilled water in a sealed container at room temperature for

Background: Dental implants are a suitable option for the replacement of some or all missing teeth. The successful insertion of a biocompatible material into living tissue with little to no evidence of rejection has revolutionized medicine and dentistry. An increase in bone response was observed with local administration of growth hormone around dental implants. Growth hormone may act as a bone stimulant in the placement of endosseous dental implants and enhances osseointegration. The aim of the study was to evaluate immunohistochemically the effect of the topical application of growth hormone on the osseointegration of cpTi implant. Materials and Methods: Eighty titanium screw implants were inserted in the tibia of the forty adult rabbits.

The distance between beta source and second shield is constant (D=1) cm. This dose rate was found by program called Rad Pro Calculator (version 3.26). The results of dose rate of beta particles were plotted as a function to the atomic number (Z) for first shield materials for each
