This work is the first study of the Curculionoidea fauna from Kurdistan region of Iraq, based on the intensive survey in different localities of Kurdistan from March 2016 to November 2017. In total, 41 species belonging to 28 genera, 21 tribes and 3 families were collected and identified, including 25 species newly recorded for the Iraqi fauna.

General distribution, collecting localities and methods, with plant association data for each species are given.

A simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been proposed for the determination of La (III) using 3-hydroxy -4-(2-hydroxy-phenyl azo) naphthalene -1- sulfonic acid as a chromogenic reagent. This method is based on the formation of a red-pink colored complex, upon the reaction of La(III) with the reagent in an alkaline medium (pH= 9.50), having a maximum absorbance at 459 nm. Beer's law is valid in the concentration range 0.512 µg.ml-1 with a Sandell's sensitivity value of 0.0188 µg.cm-2 and molar absorptivity of 7376.12 L.mol-1.cm-1. New tetradentate Schiff base [H2L] namely [2,2׳ -(ethane-1,2- diylbis (azan-1-ylylidene) diacetic acid)] was prepared from condensation of ethylenediamine with  glyoxylic acid  in ethanol as a solvent in presence of drops of 48% HBr .The structure of ligand (H2L) was characterized by,F-IR, U.V-Vis.,1H-,13C-NMR, pectrophotometer,melting point and elemental microanalysis C.H.N.  Metal complexes of the ligand (H2L) in general Molecular formula [M(L)(H2O)2], where M=  Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Mn(II) and Hg(II); L=(C6H8N2O4) were synthesized were characterized by, Atomic absorption, F-IR, U.V-Vis. spectra, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility.It was found that all the complexes showed octahedral geometries.And

    Morphological and phonological studies of fungal pathogen infecting alfalfa weevil Hypera postica (Gyllenhal) indicating that infection has been shown to develop along two distinct physiological lines, each culminating in the production of either conidial or resting spores, in host cadavers which are morphologically distinct.
