Effects of Tribuls terrestris (Quttub) and clomiphene citrate on ovaries of female mice; Histological and histochemical study
...Show More Authors

Abstract: Background: Tribuls terrestris increases levels of various hormones in steroid family including testosterone, DEHA, and estrogen and for this reason improves sport performance, fertility in men and women, sexual function in men and women. There is, at present, lack of scientific confirmation of these supposed benefits. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the possible effect(s) of Tribuls terrestris on the mouse ovarian morphology and function, alone and in combination with other ovulation modulator agent (clomiphene citrate). Materials & Methods: A total of 49 sexually mature healthy Norway albino female mice were used in this study; 25 for pilot study and 24 for the experimental study. Experimental animals were divided into 4 groups, each contained 6 animals. The 1st group was given Tribuls terrestris, the 2nd group was given clomiphene citrate, the 3rd group was given the two agents together, and the 4th group was control. Treatment was given daily for 10 days via orogastric intubation. Histological, histochemical, cytological and morphometrical studies were carried out. Results: demonstrated that Tribuls terrestris alone causes an increase in the number and size of the mature follicles, with no significant change in the total follicular number, with obvious progesterone and some estrogen effects on the otherwise normal vaginal smears. On the other hand, clomiphene alone revealed no mature follicles and no corpora lutea, with strong estrogen-like effect and minimal progesterone effects on the vaginal smears. When Tribuls terrestris and clomiphene were given together, mature follicles and corpora lutea appeared in relatively large numbers, with estrogen and progesterone effects on the vaginal cytology. Conclusion: Tribuls terrestris can stimulate ovulation when given alone, and oppose the anti-ovulatory effect of clomiphene and resume ovulation when given in combination with it. STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF ROYAL JELLY OF BEES (APIS MELLIFERA) ON THE MORPHOLOGY AND SPERM FUNCTION PARAMETERS IN MICE (SWISS ALBINO)
...Show More Authors

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of Royal jelly RJ on morphology and motility of mice sperms. Sperms were collected from the cauda region of the  epididymis of each 10 mice from the treatment and control groups. Direct activation techniques and evaluation of sperm morphology were carried out. Dhino microscope was used for sperm measurement. The inspection was carried out in Salamatic laboratory for pathological analysis in 2015.The result revealed that all of the sperm function parameters registered significant activation  in the treatment group. There was a significant increase in both the percentage of the sperm motility grade A and the progressive motility (A+B) of the treatment gr

In addition to unprecedented work under heavily pressurethat attack to a minimum protection and safety. Vagrant may be a child, a teen, a young, or

Extensive evaluation of 76 women with polycystic ovary syndrome compared with 25 fertile women as control group was achieved by routine investigations and hormonal study of each female which were done in one period during the menstrual cycle. Then the women with PCOS have been divided into 2 groups according to their menstrual cycle (irregular menstrual cycle) during assessing their hormonal profiles as follow:- 1- (54) Patients with oligomenorrhea. 2- (22) Patients with menorrhea. This study shows that the women with PCOs have different clinical features taken from a history of disease of all of the women. Those features were distributed as follow: 57.92% of them suffer from hirsutism. 19.24% suffer from irregular menstr

Recent developments in two main phases of cumulus cloud studies are discussed; first the relations between the clouds and their energy sources in the subcloud layer and second, the interaction between the clouds and their environment in the cloud layer. Under the first heading, the various originating impulses for cumulus formation are mentionitd. and how the character of this impulse affects the spacing, scale and temperature structure of the clouds. The possible origins of trade cumuli are considered.

Objectives of this project were to study the effect of 60% crude alcoholic extract of the seeds of cyperus esculentuson induced endometritis in the mice . The plant of cyperus esculentuswas extracted by preparing Alcoholic extract 60% . One hundred microliters of saline containing Escherichia coli (104cfu) was used to induce endometritis, by a single intracervicallyinjection, and endometritis developed after 2 days from injection. The mice were divided into five groups, The first group were treated with alcoholic extract of cyperus esculentusextract 150mg/kg body weight, the second group was treated with a daily 3mg per kg body weight of gentamicin given intra peritoneal,The third group was treated by 75mg/kg of cyperus esculentusextract an

EFFECT OF HONEY ON SPERM CHARACTERISTICS AND PREGNANCY RATE IN MICE
...Show More Authors

The aim of the current study is to demonstrate the effect of honey on the sperms characteristics (sperm concentration, sperm motility, grade of activity and sperm normal morphology) as well as pregnancy rate in mice. Sperms were obtained from caudal epididymis of male mice and prepared by adding10% of honey to the IVF medium using direct sperms activation technique for 30 minute incubation period before artificial insemination.

The study revealed a significant (P > 0.05) increase in active sperm motility (grade A and grade B) 49% and pregnancy rate 53.3% in female mice artificially inseminated with sperms. On the other hand, there were no significant differences in sperm con

Background: Gugglusterone has been reported to provide protection against inflammatory and oxidative reactions of different pathological conditions. Objectives: The main object of this research work is to evaluate the renoprotective effects of guggulsterone in the prevention of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats via assessment of renal function and histological study. Materials and methods: Rats in this study were split into four groups which comprise a control group, an induction group, a third group receiving low-dose guggulsterone, and a fourth group receiving high-dose guggulsterone. Results: a single dose of cisplatin drug has jeopardisedrenal physiology that has been demonstrated in histopathology sections and elevation

This study compared the effects of citric acid (CA) derived from microbial fermentation using Aspergillus niger (400 mg kg-1) and natural extraction from Citrus limon (400 mg kg1) in albino mice. Parameters assessed included cytogenetic damage via the micronucleus (MN) assay, immunological response through immunoglobulin (IgA, IgG, IgM) titers, and hepatoprotective activity based on liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT, ALP) and histopathological inves tigation. Mice were divided into six groups (n=10/group) as follows: (1) negative control, (2) carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄ 0.02%), (3) lemon CA, (4) A. niger, (5) CCl₄ + lemon CA, and (6) CCl₄ + A. niger CA. The CCl4 group exhibited a significantly higher MN frequency (0.06 ± 0.008) compa
