Role of Commercial Banks in Stimulating Investments Amid Exchange Rate Fluctuations in Iraq
...Show More Authors

When it comes to boosting the economy, development, and allocation of financial resources from accessible savings to be employed in all economic sectors (industrial, agricultural, and service), commercial banks in developing and Arab countries are seen as one of the tools. Foreign and domestic investment play critical roles in the economies of both established and developing nations by providing much-needed capital, allowing for the more efficient use of available natural and human resources, and allowing for the more rapid adoption of cutting-edge technologies. Investment success depends on the presence of institutions and capacities of a developed financial and banking type. The significance of this study can be seen in how it examines the reality of commercial banks and their function in promoting and activating domestic and international investment in the context of exchange rate fluctuations, taking into account the financial resources and financial surpluses that commercial banks have available to them to lend money and credit to promote local investment. The banking system, including commercial banks, suffers from challenges since the eighties and nineties of the last century due to wars and the effects of the economic blockade, up to the after 2003 political and security events, in addition to accumulations in banking laws and regulations that did not contribute to the development of the banking sector in Iraq. Also, commercial banks did not contribute effectively to financing investment, and this is evident from the low level of funding for local investments. In addition, the structural imbalances in the Iraqi economy, the deterioration of infrastructure, and the repercussions of Corona led to the reluctance of investors to invest in Iraq. The investment environment available in Iraq is a suitable environment for investment and provides capacity. However, the political and security challenges facing the country and the administrative and financial corruption in most parts of the state have negatively affected the volume of investments in a way that is not commensurate with the volume of available natural and human resources and available investment opportunities. The most important conclusions of this research were as follows

Evaluation of the quality of potable water in Al-Rusafa side, Baghdad, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Safe drinking water is essential for the present and future generations' health. This study aims to assess drinking water quality in Baghdad's Al-Rusafa neighborhood. Water samples were taken from 32 neighborhoods on this side. The quality of the examined potable water samples differed depending on the water source. This investigation's pH, chlorine, EC, TDS, TSS, Cd, and Pb levels were below acceptable ranges. TDS levels in Al-Mada'in are more significant than acceptable (>600ppm) water levels. Bacteria have polluted six communities (Shigella, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella). Bacterial quality of drinking water and gram-negative bacteria resistant to chlorine in Baghdad's municipal water supply. Regarding pH, the w

FIRST RECORD OF TWO PARASITOID WASPS OF THE FAMILY CHALCIDIDAE (HYMENOPTERA) IN IRAQ
...Show More Authors

The family Chalcididae (Order: Hymenoptera) is known as one of the large chalcidoid wasps with some distinct morphological characters. The first occurrence of two parasitoid species belonging to this family was reported in the Al-Husayniya district Karbala Province, Iraq; which are: Brachymeria podagrica (Fabricius, 1787) and Chalcis myrifex (Sulzer, 1776). Both species were collected by using the sweeping net from orchards during July 2020.

Role of plant growth regulators in gene expression of SGR gene responsible for stay green of wheat varieties
...Show More Authors

A field experiment was carried out during winter season of 2019-2020 at Al-Mhanawyah Research Station - Agriculture Research Directorate - Babylon Governorate / Iraqi, to study the gene expression of Sgr gene responsible for controlling the duration of staying green in varieties of wheat under effect of plant growth regulator during the two growth stages (vegetative and reproductive) by using quantitative reverse transcription-PCR (RT-qPCR) technique and achieving the highest grain yield for a number of wheat varieties. Randomized complete block design (RCBD) arranged according to split plots used with three replicates. The experiment included twelve wheat varieties (Saberbic, Al-Rasheed, Iraq, Tamoz-3, Al-Adnaniya, Babel, IPA-99, Al-Latife

Analysis of the Role of Agricultural Investment Policies and Agricultural Lending in Developing Commodity Production of Rice Crops
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the impact of agricultural investment policy—represented by agricultural loans and investment allocations—on rice crop production in Iraq over the period 2003–2023, employing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. Using time-series econometric analysis, the study confirms a short-term positive and statistically significant effect of financial support on rice output, while revealing statistically insignificant long-term effects. The presence of a cointegration relationship suggests long-term equilibrium between agricultural policy variables and rice production. However, the absence of causality in the Yamamoto-Toda test implies that structural and institutional inefficiencies may dilute the long-term i

The political struggle being waged by Muslims today is one of the most important issues that have preoccupied the Arab and international media, and the failures that have afflicted Muslims in our contemporary world have negatively affected the younger generations and led them, and with the influence of anti-Islam media, to rely on accusing Islam as a religion with all the negative in Islamic and Arab society . So secularism took its role in spreading these concepts by deviating from its course from the concept of science to the concept of (the religion).
From here the calls for reform rose to return the Muslims to the incubator of Islam, so people turned around them, but they turned into competing Islamic polit

The role of performance indicators in evaluating the performance of the University of Technology's Central Library
...Show More Authors

University libraries seek to evaluate their performance in order to correct their path and adjust it in the right direction. Therefore, they use (performance indicators), which are a tool used by institutions to evaluate the weaknesses and strengths in their work and the reasons for failure to achieve some goals sometimes. They convert (goals, procedures and actions) into a formula that can be measured mathematically, which contributes to the library determining the gap between its current performance and what those libraries are supposed to be on, clarifying the path that the library is following, controlling the risks that may befall it, and thus enhancing the process of continuous improvement to avoid areas of failure and weakness becaus

Molecular Investigation of Curli Fimbriae Genes in Enterobacter cloacae Isolated from Various Clinical Sources in Baghdad, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Thirteen isolates were collected from various clinical sources during the periodfrom 22/10/2017 to 22/12/2017. All the isolates were diagnosed based on the microscopic and biochemical propertiesby Vitek-2 Compact system. All isolates formed biofilm 100%, with 30% of isolatesbiofilm produced strongly and 70% on medium. The results of the present study have shown the presence of Curli fimbriae genes in E. cloacae bacteria from cases of urinary tract infections, infected patient with blood bacteremia and inflammation of wounds. Curli fimbriae is considered to be an important factor in the virulence of E.cloacae bacteria, which plays an important role in adhering and combining cells on solid surfaces to form the biofilmand helps in the adhesion
