Background: Diabetes mellitus a major factor that has adverse effects on the vascular system and the heart. It causes an increase in cardiac muscle thickness, resulting in decreased compliance and increased peripheral arterial stiffness. This study aims to assess the left ventricular mass (LVM) and left ventricular hemodynamic changes in diabetic patients measured by Doppler echocardiography. Patients and Methods: The study included 50 diabetic patients ranging in age between 25 and 80 years, (mean age: 54.1 ± 15.10, 19 males, 31 females) and 50 healthy subjects, aged 25 to 80 years (mean age: 48.52 ± 14.45, 11 males, 39 females). Doppler echocardiography was used to assess left ventricular function. The measurements included posterior wall thickness at diastole (PWTd), interventricular septum thickness at diastole (IVSTd), left ventricular diameter at the end of diastole (LVIDd), left ventricular diameter at the end of systole (LVIDs), peak velocity at atrial contraction (A), early peak velocity (E), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF%), left ventricular mass (LVM), and relative wall thickness (RWT). Results: The data showed that changes in E/A differences between diabetic patients and controls for age ranges 25 to 50 and 60 to 80 years were -24.60% and -31.93% (p < 0.05). There were non-significant differences in the LVIDd/LVIDs ratio between diabetic patients and controls for both age groups: 1.31% and 6.25%, respectively. For 25- to 50-year olds, the changes in RWT and LVM were 50% and 74.43%, respectively (p < 0.05), while the differences in RWT and LVM for 60- to 80-year olds were 48.71% and 70.06%, respectively (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The results indicate that diastolic dysfunction may be higher in diabetic patients compared to healthy subjects, which may be due to adverse influence of diabetes on cardiac muscle. These changes in left ventricular structure may include LV hypertrophy, increase in stiffness, and reduction in compliance, with increase in left ventricular mass, relative wall thickness, posterior wall thickness at diastole, and interventricular septum thickness at diastole.
Objective(s): This research aims at evaluating the quality of pulmonary tuberculosis patients life before and after applying the suggested instructional program, and to find out relationships among distribution of an overall assessment quality of life improvement and socio-demographic characteristics variables. Methodology: Self controlled design studying effectiveness of applying instructional program on quality of life for pulmonary tuberculosis patients among sample size (65) patients from primary health care centers/AL-Sadur City sector-the consultation clinic of chest and respiratory diseases at AL
Breast cancer (BC) is first of the top 10 malignancies in Iraq. Dose‐volume histograms (DVHs) are most commonly used as a plan evaluation tool. This study aimed to assess DVH statistics using three‐dimensional conformal radiotherapies in BC in an adjuvant setting.
A retrospective study of 70 histologically confirmed women diagnosed with BC was reviewed. The study was conducted between November 2020 and May 2021, planning for treatment with adjuvant three‐dimensional conformal radiotherapies. The treatment plan used for each woman was based on an analysis of the volumetric dose, inclu
As is known that the consumer price index (CPI) is one of the most important price indices because of its direct effect on the welfare of the individual and his living.
We have been address the problem of Strongly seasonal commodities in calculating (CPI) and identifying some of the solution.
We have used an actual data for a set of commodities (including strongly seasonal commodities) to calculate the index price by using (Annual Basket With Carry Forward Prices method) . Although this method can be successfully used in the context of seasonal&nbs
... Show MoreThe cancer is one of the biggest health problems that facing the world . And the bladder cancer has a special place among the most spread cancers in Arab countries specially in Iraq and Egypt(2) . It is one of the diseases which can be treated and cured if it is diagnosed early . This research is aimed at studying the assistant factors that diagnose bladder cancer such as (patient's age , gender , and other major complains of hematuria , burning or pain during urination and micturition disorders) and then determine which factors are the most effective in the possibility of diagnosing this disease by using the statistical model (logistic regression model) and depending on a random sample of (128) patients . After

Show MoreIn this paper, game theory was used and applied to the transport sector in Iraq, as this sector includes two axes, the public transport axis and the second axis the private transport axis, as each of these axes includes several types of transport, namely (sea transport, air transport, land transport, transport by rail, port transport) and the travel and tourism sector, as public transport lacks this sector, as the competitive advantage matrix for the transport sector was formed and after applying the MinMax-MaxMin principle to the matrix in all its stages, it was found that there was an equilibrium point except for the last stage where the equilibrium point was not available Therefore, the use of the linear programming method was

And as an accountable art it seeks to achieve economic balance by distributing equitable income in order to reach sustainable development .This is the optimal use of all natural and human resources to address scarcity of natural resources facing the increase need of human resources by spending on education, health, environment, housing, agriculture and industry to achieve social justice for the current generation and future generations. Since the first budget in Iraq on 1921 an accounting budget, is balancing the sections and items has been adopted and since the publi

Show MoreThe study aims budget in grades use of smart phones to individuals (sample) according variable sex (males and females) and used researcher descriptive analytical method consisted sample of (300) students have chosen the way stratified random, and the study variables (academic achievement of students, sex and the use of Smart phones) resolution was adopted as a tool for data collection. The most important results of the study that females are more commonly used for smart phones, as well as the existence of a positive relationship between the inverse statistically significant use of smart phones and the rate of school for students and the use of smart phones h

Show MoreThe performance of a vapor compression refrigeration system (VCRS)-based residential air conditioner operating in a high-ambient temperature (HAT) country was investigated using six zero-ODP (ozone depletion potential) refrigerants as replacements to R22. The non-flammable alternative refrigerants considered in the present research were R134a, R404A, R407C, R410A, R448A, and R507A. Using the basic conservation laws, the VCRS was modeled during steady-state operation and solved using engineering equation solver (EES) software.
