El Eufemismo y el tabú son dos fenómenos lingüísticos diferentes, donde el término «tabú» designa conductas, acciones o conjunto de valores prohibidos, censurados o moralmente inaceptables por un grupo humano y opuesto a las convenciones sociales. El tabú está presente en las culturas de todas las épocas, pero varía enormemente de una sociedad a otra.
