A Novel Etchant System for Orthodontic Bracket Bonding
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Orthodontic treatment is widely used to correct irregular teeth and/or jaw discrepancies to improve oral function and facial aesthetics. However, it is frequently associated with enamel damage that include chipping, demineralisation, and white spot formation. So far, current bonding systems that can maintain shear bond strengths (SBS) suitable for clinical performance are unable to limit enamel demineralisation, adhesive remnants and damage caused on removal of brackets after treatment. This study reports a novel “safe enamel etch” clinically viable procedure that was accomplished via application of novel etchant pastes developed with β-tricalcium phosphate and monocalcium phosphate monohydrate powders mixed with citric acid (5 M) or phosphoric acid (37% PA) to yield BCA and BPA etchants respectively. Although enamel etched with clinically used PA gel yielded higher SBS than the BCA/BPA etchants, it exhibited greater adhesive remnants with evidence of enamel damage. In contrast, the experimental etchants resulted in unblemished enamel surfaces with zero or minimal adhesive residue and clinically acceptable SBS. Furthermore, the BPA etchant caused lower enamel decalcification with extensive calcium-phosphate precipitation. The study conclusively showed that BPA facilitated in vitro enamel adhesion without detrimental effects of the aggressive PA gel with potential for remineralisation and saving time at the post-debonding step.</p>

Abstract<p>The new Schiff base (L) “4‐[(2,4‐dimethoxy‐benzylidene)‐amino]‐1,5‐dimethyl‐2‐phenyl‐1,2‐dihydro‐pyrazol‐3‐one” was synthesized from 2,4‐dimethoxy‐benzaldehyde and 4‐amino‐1,5‐dimethyl‐2‐phenyl‐1,2‐dihydropyrazol‐3‐one, and the geometry of Schiff base was characterized and determined by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H‐NMR), mass, Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR), and ultraviolet‐visible (UV‐vis) spectroscopy. Schiff complexes of Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(IV), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Mg(II) have been prepared by reaction of ion metals with as‐prepared Schiff base. The results showed that synthesized complexes offered 1:2 m</p> ... Show More

Recognition is one of the basic characteristics of human brain, and also for the living   creatures. It is possible to recognize images, persons, or patterns according to their characteristics. This recognition could be done using eyes or dedicated proposed methods. There are numerous applications for pattern recognition such as recognition of printed or handwritten letters, for example reading post addresses automatically and reading documents or check reading in bank.

One of the challenges which faces researchers in character recognition field is the recognition of digits, which are written by hand. This paper describes a classification method for on-line handwrit

Transformation in International Polar System: Study of the future of the nonpolar system
...Show More Authors

The study of the future of the international system currently appears, according to scientific data and existing facts in light of the emergence of international actors from non-states and international informal institutions, to be heading towards a non-polarity system and this trend is fueled by many variables to reduce polarity, and it is expected in the future that the international system will turn into a non-polarity.

A novel azo dye was prepared by reacting the diazonium salt of 3-aminophenol with 8-hydroxyquinoline and subsequently used to prepare a series of Ni+2, Pd+2, Pt+4, and Cu+2 complexes. The ligand structure was characterized via1H-and 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The as-synthesized materials were characterized via Fourier-transform infrared, ultraviolet‒visible, and mass spectroscopy, as well as thermo gravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, and elemental analysis. Conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, and the metal and chloride contents of the complexes were also determined. The ligand exhibited a trigonal geometry, whereas the Cu+2, Pd+2, Pt+4, and Ni+2 complexesexhibited tetrahedral, square planar, octahedral, and

RETRACTED ARTICLE: The impact of fear on a stage structure prey–predator system with anti-predator behavior
...Show More Authors

A prey-predator interaction model has been suggested in which the population of a predator consists of a two-stage structure. Modified Holling's disk equation is used to describe the consumption of the prey so that it involves the additional source of food for the predator. The fear function is imposed on prey. It is supposed that the prey exhibits anti-predator behavior and may kill the adult predator due to their struggle against predation. The proposed model is investigated for existence, uniqueness, and boundedness. After determining all feasible equilibrium points, the local stability analyses are performed. In addition, global stability analyses for this model using the Lyapunov method are investigated. The chance of occurrence of loc
