Evaluation of the Impact of Ozonated Water on Water Sorption and Solubility of Heat Cure Acrylic Resin: An In Vitro Study
...Show More Authors

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of ozonated water on water sorption and solubility of heat-cure acrylic resin. Methods: Thirty-three samples of heat-cured acrylic resin were manufactured and divided into three groups: control, immersion for 10 and 20 minutes in ozonated water. Water sorption and water solubility tests were carried out in line with ADA Standard No. 12 for denture-base acrylic resin. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA at a significance level of 5%. Results: There was a nonsignificant difference between the control and experimental groups regarding water sorption (P = 0.273) and was significant for water solubility (P < 0.001). Tukey’s post-hoc test showed significant differences between control and intervention (OZ-10 and OZ-20) groups regarding water solubility (P < 0.001) and nonsignificant differences between OZ-10 and OZ-20 groups (P = 0.811). Conclusion: Immersion for 10 and 20 minutes in ozonated water can increase water solubility.

Hele-Shaw Modeling of CO2-Assisted Gravity Drainage with Bottom-Water Support: An Experimental Study
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Gas-assisted gravity drainage (GAGD) has emerged as a promising enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method that utilizes the natural buoyancy of injected gas to mobilize oil in gravity-dominated systems. The scope of this work is to experimentally evaluate the performance of CO2-assisted GAGD in the presence of bottom-water support, a common reservoir condition that complicates gas flooding efficiency. The primary objectives are to (i) assess the impact of injection pressure and oil production rate on oil recovery, (ii) determine the operational conditions that maintain gravity dominance and delay breakthrough, and (iii) identify the trade-offs between maximizing recovery and minimizing ga</p> ... In vitro apical microleakage evaluation for different endodontic sealers by spectrophotometric analysis: an observational study
...Show More Authors

Background: It has been established that several filling techniques can affect apical leakage, which is responsible for 59% of endodontic failures. The primary goal of endodontic therapy is to create a tight seal that aids in repairing the periapical tissues, prevents apical periodontitis, and shields against root canal infection. The study aims to compare the apical sealing ability of epoxy resin based sealer  (AH plus), which is an epoxy-resin-based root canal sealer, GuttaFlow 2, which is a silicone-based root canal sealer, GuttaFlow bioseal is a bioactive glass-based root canal sealer, TotalFill HiFlow bioceramic (BC) sealer is a silicate-based root canal sealer (bioceramic sealer) using a single cone techn

The effect of incorporation of prepared Ag-Zn Zeolite on some properties of heat polymerized acrylic denture base materials
...Show More Authors

Background: Poly (methylmethacrylate) is the most widely used material in denture fabrication. The characteristics of acrylic resin which support microorganism development can threaten the oral health of denture users. This study was assigned to prepareand incorporate Ag-Zn zeolite powder into heat cured denture base material as antimicrobial material and to investigate its effect on some properties of heat cured acrylic denture base materials. Materials and methods: Sliver –zinc zeolite was prepared by ion exchange method and characterized then incorporated into poly (methylmethacrylate) powder in0.5% by weight. Specimens were constructed and divided into 6 groups according to the using tests; each group was subdivided into 2 groups

Impact of Design Parameters in Thermal Solar Water Storage Tank Systems: (A Review)
...Show More Authors

This work provides a historical overview of water storage tanks used for solar energy collection, with a focus on the impact of different geometric configurations on thermal performance and energy storage efficiency. The designs of cylindrical, spherical, rectangular and triangular tanks were reviewed to analyse their effects on thermal gradients, heat retention and energy storage capacity. Within the scope of nominal processes, the study primarily aimed to identify the factors influencing the choice of tank shape in terms of size, capacity and aspect ratio. Another key objective was to assess what enhances heat storage in the tank to improve thermal efficiency. Comparing cylindrical shapes to other shapes, such as spherical, rectan

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the research is to identify the role of drinking water quality in achieving customer satisfaction in one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities (Diwaniyah Water Directorate), as they are important service organizations that have a fundamental role in serving the community. Faced many administrative challenges, as a result of the continuous and accelerating environmental changes, environmental pollution and immaturity of social awareness and social responsibility, as these contributed to and affected the quality of drinking water, Therefore, it is necessary to know the role of quality, specifically "drinking water and its effect o

Effect of Bisoctrizole on Ultraviolet (UV) Absorption Properties of Silicone and Effect on Surface Roughness - An In Vitro Study
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background:

Premature degradation is the problem of maxillofacial silicones, significantly affected by ultraviolet exposure, contributing to silicones photodegradation. Degradation necessitates frequent replacement of prostheses that increase the total cost of rehabilitation.

Aims:

This study evaluated the effect of bisoctrizole on the ultraviolet absorption properties of silicone material and the stability of this absorption over time. Also, the bisoctrizole effect on the surface roughness of silicone was evaluated.

Corrosion Study of the Injection Equipments in Water in Al-Ahdeb Wells ‐Iraq
...Show More Authors

Water injection equipments such as pipelines, which are used in the second recovery of oil in the Al-Ahdeb wells, suffer from the corrosion in water during maintaining vacuum deoxygenated tower that used to decrease concentration of the dissolved oxygen gas in the water from 6.2-9.1 ppm to o.5 ppm. This study involved calculation the corrosion rates of the internal surfaces of the
pipelines either during operation of the vacuum unit or when the tower out of operation. Finally, find the solution by one of the following suggestions. In the first suggestion removal of the dissolved O2 from water is achieved by increasing the dosage of the oxygen scavenger (sodium sulphite). The second suggestion involves removing the dissolved O2 from w

Seasonal variation and correlation between the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of Nile water in selected area in Egypt (Case study): physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of Nile water
...Show More Authors

Fresh water resources in terms of water quality is a crucial issue worldwide. In Egypt, the Nile River is the main source of fresh water in the country and monitoring its water quality is a major task on governments and research levels. In the present case study, the physical, chemical and algal distribution in Nile River was monitored over two seasons (winter and summer) in 2019. The aims of the study were to check the seasonal variation among the different water parameters and also to check the correlations between those parameters. Water samples were collected from the Nile in Cairo governorate in EGYPT. The different physiochemical and microbiological properties in water samples were assessed. The studied parameters were included: te
