The impact of initial credit ratingAnnouncement of bonds on stock prices: An analytical study in the Abu Dhabi Securities Market
...Show More Authors

The purpose of the research is to investigate the response of stock prices of companies that issued debt instruments (bonds) listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange for information content from the Moody's first credit rating announcements for the period 1 January 2005 - 30 May 2017. The study methodology was used to verify the existence of this response by the market and the Market efficiency of the Semi-strong shape.  The research focused on testing the impact of the initial announcement. The research showed that there is an influential information content to announce credit ratings in stock prices, with different responses between negative and positive. It was also found that the industrial sectors sample research separately differ in their response to the announcement where the banking sector was more responsive than other sectors and most of the response was positive while the Real estate sector has a negative impact on the prices of its stock, The impact on stock prices led to extraordinary returns when the initial rating was announced, indicating that the Abu Dhabi market is not as efficient as the semi-strong. The study reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which was the need to enhance transparency and disclosure in order to enhance the efficiency of the financial markets, as well as encourage Iraqi companies to enter into the issuance of debt securities in order to finance their

Transient expression of cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) P6-GFP complements a defective CaMV replicon to facilitate viral gene expression, replication and virion formation
...Show More Authors

Over the past decades, several studies have examined the subcellular localization of the cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) P6 protein by tagging it with GFP (P6-GFP). These investigations have been essential in the development of models for inclusion body formation, nuclear transport, and microfilament-associated intracellular movement of P6 inclusion bodies for delivery of virions to plasmodesmata. Although it was shown early on that the translational transactivation function of P6-GFP was comparable to wild type P6, it has not been possible to incorporate a P6-GFP gene into an infectious clone of CaMV. Consequently, it has not been possible to formally prove that a P6-GFP fusion is comparable in function to the unmodified P6 protein. Here w

A square experimental arena with vegetation on one interior side was deployed in a Sharjah, United Arab Emirates desert. Individual darkling beetles (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae) Akis subtricostata Redtenbacher, 1850 and Trachyderma philistina Reiche and Saulcy, 1857 were placed inside the arena at temperatures ranging between 27 - 49°C. Whether they chose the vegetated side of the arena or not was recorded, as well as how long it took for them to reach the vegetated side, if they chose it. Both species preferred the vegetated side at all temperatures, and the chance of them choosing the vegetated side increased significantly with increasing temperature (logistic regression, p = 0.0096 and p = 0.0003 for

Synthesis and characterization of ligands derived 2-hydroxy-1- naphthaldehyde and their complexes with divalent metal ions (Mn+2, Fe+2, Ni +2)
...Show More Authors

In this work, Schiff base ligands L1: N, N-bis (2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) hydrazine, L2: N, N-bis (salicylidene) hydrazine, and L3:N –salicylidene- hydrazine were synthesized by condensation reaction. The prepared ligands were reacted with specific divalent metal ions such as (Mn2+, Fe2+, Ni2+) to prepare their complexes. The ligands and complexes were characterized by C.H.N, FT-IR, UV-Vis, solubility, melting point and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The results show that the ligands of complexes (Mn2+, Fe2+) have octahedral geometry while the ligands of complexes (Ni2+) have tetrahedral geometry.

Sustainable Removal of Dyes from Wastewater Using Eggshell-Derived Calcium Carbonate Nanoparticles: Adsorption Isotherms, Kinetics, and Thermodynamic Analysis Supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
...Show More Authors

This study explores eggshell waste as a low-cost, eco-friendly adsorbent for removing Aniline Blue dye from water. Batch and continuous experiments under various conditions showed effective performance. FTIR and SEM analyses confirmed porosity and functional groups. The adsorption followed the Sips isotherm and pseudo-first-order kinetics. The porous calcium carbonate structure enhanced dye removal. Thermodynamic results indicated an endothermic and spontaneous process. Lower flow rates improved performance in fixed-bed columns. The study supporting environmentally friendly solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In the ongoing series of our research, we prepared a new multifunctional azo-vanillin ligand (HL) and its Cu(II) complex to investigate their potential as versatile compounds for industrial/pharmaceutical purposes. Structural integrity was determined through spectroscopic analyses (FT-IR, NMR, Mass and UV-Vis), highlighting a distorted square planar geometry for the metal complex. The ligand was examined for its dyeing potential on wool and cotton with the latter showing better substantivity to cellulosic fibers and behaving as a good direct dye having excellent washing fastness. Furthermore, leveraging its surface-active properties, the ligand was tested as a green corrosion inhibitor for C-45 steel in a saline medium (3.5% NaCl) acr

A Mathematical Model of a Thermally Activated Roof (TAR) Cooling System Using a Simplified RC-Thermal Model with Time Dependent Supply Water Temperature
...Show More Authors

This paper presents a computer simulation model of a thermally activated roof (TAR) to cool a room using cool water from a wet cooling tower. Modeling was achieved using a simplified 1-D resistance-capacitance thermal network (RC model) for an infinite slab. Heat transfer from the cooling pipe network was treated as 2-D heat flow. Only a limited number of nodes were required to obtain reliable results. The use of 6th order RC-thermal model produced a set of ordinary differential equations that were solved using MATLAB - R2012a. The computer program was written to cover all possible initial conditions, material properties, TAR system geometry and hourly solar radiation. The cool water supply was considered time
