Titanium dioxide nanorods have been prepared by sol-gel template
method. The structural and surface morphology of the TiO₂ nanorods was
investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy
(AFM), it was found that the nanorods produced were anatase TiO₂ phase.
The photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 nanorods was evaluated by the
photo degradation of methyl orange (MO). The relatively higher
degradation efficiency for MO (D%=78.2) was obtained after 6h of exposed
to UV irradiation.

Sixteen soil samples were collected from wheat, barley and yellow corn rhizosphere in Abu-Ghraib, Aqraqof, Latifieh,Tarmiah, Jadriya and  of Agriculture in Baghdad university/ Baghdad city. The results found nine phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) isolates (Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6, Y7, Y8, Y9), formed clear zones on National Botanical Research Institute's (NBRIP) agar. The solubility index (SI) of PSB isolates ranged from 2.00 to 3.66. Y4 have the highest SI (3.66) followed by Y3 and Y6 (3.33).   One hundred fifty bacterial strains were isolated from patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs). They were belong to ten different species of gram-negative bacteria and to two genera of gram–positive bacteria. E. coli was the major causative agent and comprise 40% of all cases. Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus mirabilis were second and third with 18.67% & 18.0% respectively.
