Diesel generators is widely used in Iraq for the purpose of maintaining electric power demand. Large number of operators engaged in this work encounters high level of noise generated by back pack type diesel generators used for this purpose. Scheduling problems have been treated as single criterion problems until recently. Many of these problems are computationally hard to solve three as single criterion problems. However, there is a need to consider multiple criteria in a real life scheduling problem in general. In this paper, we study the problem of scheduling jobs on a single machine to minimize total tardiness subject to maximum earliness or tardiness for each job. And we give algorithm (ETST) to solve the first problem (p1) and algorithm (TEST) to solve the second problem (p2) to find an efficient solution.  

The object of this work is to investigate the effect of the addition of methanol on the shelf life and color characteristics of novolak resin. Different percentages were added and two mechanisms were suggested for the addition. High ortho structure (1, 2-3) novolak resin was prepared and used in the above investigation. Experimental determination using FT-IR and UV-spectroscopy showed that on the addition of 30% of methanol and according to the second mechanism of addition novolak shelf life increased to 12 months without obvious decomposition and color change.
