Abstract

The current research aims to identify the effect of the idea filtering strategy on the achievement of second-intermediate school female students in science. The two researchers adopted the experimental method and the experimental design with partial control in the two groups (experimental group and control group). Objectives: To assess the psychological adjustment of middle school students and to identify the relationship between differences in demographic characteristics and psychological adjustment.

Methodology: A descriptive correlation design was used. The study seeks to explore the mental-math level among intermediate-school students. To this end, the researcher raised a question. What the level of mental math among students in the intermediate stage? Total of (576) male and female students were chosen from different schools at Al-karkh side \ general directorate of Baghdad education. So as to answer research question and hypothesis, a questionnaire of (30) items designed by the authors was administered to the study sample. The importance of teaching methods and procedures comes from the nature and significance of the questions raised inside the classroom. That is, because questions, in fact, are the means of communication and interaction in the class situation. Therefore they are considered as indispensible elements in any teaching approach. Furthermore, it is noticeable that the majority of teachers fail in using them, for questions are often casted spontaneously and without pre-planning. Hence, a delay may occur in realizing the pre-set objectives, and let alone the dominance of stereotyped questions, especially when the teachers focus on a type of question which can be directly answered from the text-book.
