DEVELOP SCALE OF SELECTIV MUTISM WITH PUPILS OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to develop scale of Selectiv Mutism with pupils of primary schools according to their teachers' view in Baghdad city (Karh and Resaf(.

Children might choose the mutism as the solution to avoid some psychological and social problems that surrounded them. Furthermore, this could consider as a disorder that could effect the child and led him to use the Selected Mutism.

This is supported by the pilot study which was conducted by the researcher on 150 teachers in different primary schools in Baghdad. The results revealed some symptoms were found with children who have selected mutism.

Because of there was no scale was found to measure the Selected Mutism, a scale was develop in order to measure the Selected Mutism on pupils of primary schools.

In order to achieve the study aim, the researcher had followed the following steps:

  • some items was formulated and collected according to the literature review and the pilot study that was conducted on teachers from different primary schools in Baghdad. The scale included 48 items.
  • The scale was presented on number of experts of psychologist in order to evaluate the validity of items of the scale. According expert's view, all the items were appropriate and validate.
  • The test was conducted on 100 students (female and male) according to their teachers' view who were chosen randomly from four primary schools in Baghdad (Resafaa and Kharh) for the academic year 2014-2015.
  • Some statistical analysis were used with the items (discrimination, and validation).
  • Some psychometric properties were conduced:
  • The face validity.
  • Reliability: Cronbach's alpha was used and the reliability score was( .96).

  • After the results of statistical analysis, 12 items were excluded from the scale and the final version of the scale was includes 36 items.
  • Some recommendation and suggestions were presented in order to develop the study in the future.

Study of the Nuclear Structure of some Neutron Rich Si Isotopes Using Shell Model with Skyrme Interaction
...Show More Authors

  Abstract

The nuclear structure of 28-40Si isotopes toward neutron dripline has been investigated in framework of shell model with Skyrme-Hrtree-Fock method using certain Skyrme parameterizations. Moreover, investigations of static properties such as nuclear densities for proton, neutron, mass, and, charge densities with their corresponding rms radii, neutron skin thicknesses, binding energies, separation energies, shell gap, and pairing gap have been performed using the most recent Skyrme parameterization. The calculated results have been compared with available experimental data to identify which of these parameterizations introduced equivalent results with the ex

A Study of the generation of laser soliton from spontaneous emission by ring cavity with carbon nanotube
...Show More Authors

We demonstrate a behavior of laser pulse grows through fiber laser inside and output cavity with a soliton fiber laser based on the multi-wall carbon nanotube saturable absorber (SA), we investigate the effects of a saturable absorber parameter on the mode-locking of a realistic Erbium fiber ring laser. Generalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation including the nonlinear effects as gain dispersion, second anomalous group velocity dispersion (GVD), self phase modulation (SPM), and two photon absorption used to describe pulse evolution. An analytical method has been used to understand and to quantify the role of the SA parameter on the propagation dynamics of pulse laser. We compute the chirp, power, width and phase of the soliton for range

Uric Acid as a Natural Scavenger of Peroxynitrite in a Sample of Iraqi Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
...Show More Authors

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with decreased antioxidant state .This study aim to investigate the status of oxidant/antioxidant in a sample of Iraqi patients with RA and the role of peroxynitrite and its natural scavenger uric acid in them .This case-controlled study was conducted at Baghdad teaching hospital /Baghdad from December 2010-May 2011 . Twenty-five patients with mean age 39 years and 25 apparently healthy subject as controls with mean age 29 years were included in the study .Investigations include estimation of serum levels of nitric oxide (NO) ,peroxynitrite (PN) , malondialdehyde (MDA) , and uric acid (UA) .Serum PN levels were significantly elevated in RA patients a

The Effect of Spraying with Plant Extracts on Some Growth Characteristics and Active Ingredients of Basil Plant
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.), a leafy plant used for fresh food, medicinal purposes, and aromatic purposes (including the extraction of volatile essential oil and active compounds), was the subject of a worker experiment at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Ibn Al-Haitham / University of Baghdad during the 2023 growing season. The experiment aimed to determine the effects of spraying the basil plant’s vegetative system with aqueous extracts of watercress and parsley on the plant’s growth characteristics and the production of active compounds. The experiment included two factors, the first factor, the aqueous extract of the watercress plant in three concentrations (0, 5, 10
... Show More
