The extraction behaviour of a secondary amine (Dioctylamine) and a combination of secondary amine and tertiary amine (Tricapryl amine) toward some of the metal ions were investigated. Two types of diluents were applied, namely, mesitylene and treated Kerosene fraction. The extractability of dioctylamine and different combinations of tertiary amine and secondary amine toward uranium were investigated. The distribution coefficients and the separataion factors of uranium from the metal ions were calculated.

The thermal evaporation technique was used to prepare the Ni-Cr films with a thickness of 200 nm and a rate of deposition  of 0.22nm/Sec. The annealing was performed at 373 and 473 K. The structural and optical analyses of the grown layers were achieved and XRD patterns showed amorphous structure transferred to polycrystalline for film annealed at 373 and 473 K. AFM analysis showed that the surface of Ni-Cr films is homogenous and the average roughness, optical energy gap and absorption coefficient were increased with increasing annealing temperature (T_a).

Objective: To determine the ability of uVDBP to discern SRNS from steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS) in Iraqi children. The change in the optical band gap and optical activation energy have been investigated for pure Poly (vinyl alcohol)and Poly (vinyl alcohol) doped with Aluminum sulphate to proper films from their optical absorption spectra. The absorption spectra were measured in the wave range from (200-700) nm at temperature range (25-140) 0C. The optical band gap (Eg) for allowed direct transition decrease with increase the concentration of Aluminum sulphate. The optical activation energy for allowed direct transition band gap was evaluated using Urbach- edges method.
