The study aims to identify the extent the academics in colleges of applied sciences are familiar with the themes of the national strategy of education 2040 in the Sultanate of Oman. The researchers used the descriptive approach, as well as they adopted a questionnaire with five dimensions as a tool for data collection, which was applied to (120) academics. The results showed that the academics of the applied colleges' familiarity with the National Strategy for Education 2040 in the Sultanate of Oman is average. The study also found that there were no statistically significant differences in the academics estimates of the extent of the Colleges of Applied Sciences academics’ familiarity with the themes of the National Education 2040 Strategy in the Sultanate of Oman in terms of (gender, years of experience, geographic location). In light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a number of recommendations, among which is that Student Services Center at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences should allocate seats for students with special needs according to a unified admission mechanism for all colleges. This should be done according to the types of different programs and the international requirements and standards. Furthermore, the administration of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences should mandate the branches to invest buildings, research, and services to reduce the government spending.
This paper aims to improve the voltage profile using the Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) in the power system in the Kurdistan Region for all weak buses. Power System Simulation studied it for Engineers (PSS\E) software version 33.0 to apply the Newton-Raphson (NR) method. All bus voltages were recorded and compared with the Kurdistan region grid index (0.95≤V ≤1.05), simulating the power system and finding the optimal size and suitable location of Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM)for bus voltage improvement at the weakest buses. In this research, radon concentrations in some types of healthy drinking water samples available in Iraq's market were measured using a technique called Durridge RAD-7-H2O with closed loop. Then the rate of annual effective dose in human taken this water is determined.
