The effect of constructivist model of yager in acquiring the geographical concepts among first intermediate students in geography
...Show More Authors

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of the constructivist model of yager in acquiring the geographical concepts among first intermediate students in geography. The study was carried on based on the null hypothesis, which states, there is no significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the experimental group that follows yager model in learning the principles of geography, and the control group that studies the same subject considering the traditional methods of learning, the. To do so, a sample of (70) first-intermediate student were chosen purposefully from two random class for the academic year (2016-2017) divided into two groups. The selected schools located at Al-rusafa side in the city of Baghdad, as well as, the researcher chose parts of the geography book for that year to be taught upon conducting this study.  As for tools that used to collect the needed data, the researcher developed (45) behavioral aims spread over the first three levels of the acquisition process (identification, differentiation, and application). Additionally, the researcher designed thirty teaching plans, fifteen plans for each group. Post-test of (45) items were also designed to measure the level of acquisition of the geographical concepts. To analyze the collected data, SPSS software tools were utilized such as independent sample t-test and Alph Cronbach. The findings revealed there is a significant statistical difference between the experimental and control group.

Natural polymer Effect on gelation and rheology of ketotifen-loaded pH-sensitive in situ ocular gel (Carbapol) ‎
...Show More Authors

In situ gel can be defined as a polymer solution administered as a liquid and when exposed to some physiologic condition such as thepH, ionic, temperature modulation or solvent and UV induced gelation undergo to phase transition to a semisolid gel. Ketotifenfumarate belongs to the histamine H1 receptor antagonists, and Ketotifen fumarate is used in the treatment of allergic conditions likeconjunctivitis and rhinitis. This work aims to study the natural polymer effects (xanthan gum, gellan gum) on the properties of pH-trigger in situ ocular gel, then compared the drug-releasing rate of optimized formula with the market ketotifen eye drop. Eightformulations (F1-F8) were prepared using different concentrations of xanthan gum, gellan gum with ca

Antimicrobial Effect of Moringa Oleifera L. and Red Pomegranate against Clinically Isolated Porphyromonas gingivalis: in vitro Study
...Show More Authors

Moringa oleifera L. and red pomegranate extracts have been reported to inhibit gram-positive facultative anaerobe growth and inhibit the formation of biofilm on tooth surfaces. The current study aimed to assess the antibacterial effect of M. oleifera L. and red pomegranate extracts and their combinations against Porphyromonas gingivalis. The antimicrobial sensitivity, minimum inhibition concentrations (MIC), and minimum bactericidal concentrations after treatment with the aqueous extracts of M. oleifera L. and red pomegranate as well as their combination against clinically isolated P. gingivalis were determined using agar well diffusion and two-fold serial dilution. The anti-biofilm activity of the extracts and their combination was evaluat

Possible Augmentive Effect of Antioxidant Vitamin C in Patients with Essential Hypertension Treated with Amlodipin or Enalapril
...Show More Authors

Hypertension is identified as one of the most significant risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). There is growing evidence showing that oxidative stress plays a major role in hypertension. Increased production of reactive oxygen species and decrease bioavailability of antioxidant have been demonstrated in experimental and human hypertension. The present study was directed to determine the beneficial effect of the antioxidant vitamin C in patients with essential hypertension treated with the calcium channel blocker (amlodipine) or with the angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (enalapril). Ninety six patients (50 females and 46 males) with essential hyp

Possible Anti-Asthmatic Effect of Iraqi Ammi Majus Seeds Extract Against Asthma Induced by Ovalbumin in Mice
...Show More Authors

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disorder of airways characterized by inflammation, hyperresponsiveness, inflammatory cell infiltration, mucous secretion, and remodelling. Ammi majus is medicinal plant belong to family of Apiaceous which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. This study designed to investigate of anti-asthmatic activity of alcoholic extract of Ammi majus in improvement of asthma. Forty-eight healthy female mice divided to six groups Group I:  the negative control group (distal water only), Group II: Positive control group (ovalbumin group), Group III: Ammi majus (64 mg/kg/day) with sensitization, Group IV:Ammi majus  (128 mg/kg/day) w

Four  alkaloids  compounds  were  extracted  from  the  fruits  and leaves, of plant known locally as (Anab AI-Thebe Solanum nigram), by various solvents systems, from an earlier study by the researcher. DNA tested its effect in plasmid PBR322 deportation  method using Gel Electrophoresis. Results showed that two of those extract for full effectiveness   digestible   pieces  of  RNA and  DNA  plasmid,   and digestive  partly  of  the  other  alternatives.  That  could  prove  results indicate that this type of alkaloids consist of   biological effectiveness of anti-twnors, through

Synergistic Effect of Potassium Clavulanate in Combination withCefamandol and Ceftazidime on B- Lactamase, Extracted From Resistant E.coli
...Show More Authors

The aim of this study was to evaluate in-vitro activity of Cefamandol and Ceftazidime, in combination with potassium clavulanate against 10 uropathogenic E.coli isolated from patients with chronic complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs), these isolates were identified by the Api identification systems. The antimicrobial susceptibility tests were determined by Kirby-Bauer method and the minimum inhibitory concentrations of Cefamandol and Ceftazidime, were determined, by tube method. These isolates were resistant to Ampicillin (Amp), Amoxicillin (Amo), Carbenicillin (Cb), Ticarcillin (Tic), Amoxicillin\ Potassium Clavulanate {Augmentin}, (Amo\CA), Ticarcillin\ Potassium Clavulanate {Timentin} (Tic\CA), Cefamandol (Cfm) and Ceftazidime (

Background: obesity is an important cause of adverse health problems, including male infertility. Testosterone is essential for spermatogenesis and permits the release of mature sperms. In the absence of testosterone stimulation, spermatogenesis does not proceed beyond the meiosis stage. Aromatase expression is directly related to the degree of adiposity; it is dependent on cytokine stimulation and requires the presence of glucocorticoids, 17β-estradiol in the plasma of adult men is formed by aromatization convert testosterone and androstinedione to 17β-estradiol Apoptosis is an important process in the context of germ cells since they undergo both mitosis and meiosis, and this process is affected by
