The dynamics of the oil industry in shaping land uses: a case study of the Zubair oil field
...Show More Authors

The emergence of oil fields and subsequent changes in adjacent land use are known to affect settlements and communities. Everywhere the industry emerges, there is little understanding about the impact of oil fields on land use in the surrounding areas. The oil industry in Iraq is one of the most important industries and is almost the main industry in the Iraqi economic sector, and it is very clear that this industry is spread over large areas, and at the same time adjoins with population communities linked to it developmentally.

The rapid development and expansion of oil extraction activities in various regions has led to many challenges related to land-use planning and management. Here, the problem of research  arises on the  increase in waste of land use in favor of oil projects, which leads to spatial, environmental, social and economic imbalances that threaten the sustainability of land resources. Based on this problem, the aim of the research was to  analyze the current land uses in the Zubair oil field, and  to highlight the absence of planning principles and evaluation of various impacts.

The research has hypothesized that the application of comprehensive spatial planning principles can effectively manage the spatial,  environmental, economic and social impacts  arising from oilfield activities.

This hypothesis was tested through a detailed descriptive analytical approach, using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems (GIS) software.

The integration of these tools facilitates the analysis and visualization of spatial data, enabling the classification of satellite imagery and the mapping of different land cover and land-use categories.

The importance of research lies in highlighting  the role of spatial planning and the need to apply it in industrial projects such as the oil industry to ensure coordination between industry returns and impacts.

The results of the research confirmed the lack of a coherent plan in land use within the study area,This led to competition for land occupation between different uses, which generated imbalances and inefficiencies. Furthermore, the expansion of oil-related activities raises significant environmental concerns, necessitating an examination of spatial impacts.

The research concludes with recommendations, the most important of which are the development of clear land use plans, stakeholder cooperation, continuous monitoring through GIS applications, the development of regulations for spatial signatures of projects, and adherence to sustainability standards in land use.

Significant Safety Factors Affecting the Safety Performance in Iraqi Construction Projects
...Show More Authors

Despite recent attempts to improve safety in the construction sector, this sector is considered dangerous and unsafe. Iraq is one of the emerging nations that suffers from a lack of construction safety management. In 2018, the construction sector in Iraq was responsible for 38% of all industrial accidents. Creating a safety program minimizes this problem by making safety an intrinsic part of construction projects. As a result, this article aims to identify the crucial safety factors that affect the safety performance in Iraqi construction projects. After conducting a critical literature review of the related literature, a list of 35 sub-factors classified into nine categories of main factors was chosen to rank each facto

The Effective Width in Composite Steel Concrete Beams at Ultimate Loads
...Show More Authors

A composite section is made up of a concrete slab attached to a steel beam by means of shear connectors. Under positive and negative bending moment, part of the slab will act as a flange of the beam, resisting the longitudinal compression or tension force. When the spacing between girders becomes large, it is evident that the simple beam theory does not strictly apply because the longitudinal stress in the flange will vary with distance from the girder web, the flange being more highly stressed over the web than in the extremities. This phenomenon is termed "shear lag". In this paper, a nonlinear three-dimensional finite element analysis is employed to evaluate and determine the actual effective slab width of the composite steel-concrete

The research aims to explain the References of receiving the explicit and implicit knowledge mentioned in the Noble Qur'an. The two researchers adopted the documentary and inductive approach to study the topic. Among the conclusions of the research: The Noble Qur'an dealt with many terms and concepts that refer to the References of making explicit knowledge available, including books, which were represented by the divine books (the Qur'an, the Torah, the Zabur and the Gospel) and their concepts (the book, the Qur'an, the guidance, the remembrance, the revelation, the light, the newspapers, the plates). He dealt with many concepts that refer to the References of providing tacit knowledge, which was represented by the communication between tw

The period of the reign of King Ghazi saw many disorders in most parts of the country and the management disrupted and imbalanced, besides tribal unrests and political conflict and collision with British interests, Such as bad management in some regions and loss of government control over some administrative units, due to the position of the weak governments towards these problems, so it was necessary to change these Governments and Ministers to solve such problems. In contrast, the Iraqi government has focused on the army as the basis for a strong state and the protector on the existence of an external threat for the safety of the country, King Ghazi has helped in the development of competencies of the military, bringing the officers ex

Experimental and Theoretical Study of Neomycin Sulfate as Corrosion Protection for Titanium in Acid Media
...Show More Authors

The experimental and theoretical methods were studied for inhibition of the corrosion titanium in HCl by using neomycin sulfate drug. The results of neomycin sulfate drug had good corrosion protection for titanium in hydrochloric acid and the inhibition efficiency (%IE) increasing with increasing concentration of drug because the neomycin sulfate drug had adsorption from acid solution on surface of titanium metal. The program of hyperchem-8.07 was used for theoretical study of the drug by molecular mechanics and semi-empirical calculations. Quantum chemical was studied drug absorption and electron transferred from the drug to the Titanium metal, also inhibition potentials of drug attachment with the (LUMO-HOMO) energy gap,
