The present paper includes a study of color variation in Iraqi Collared dove Streptopelia decaocto. Three different populations have been recognized: the southern population which belongs to the Indian race, the northern population to the Eurasian race; the dark and light color variation occurs in the Baghdad population because of hybridisation between the two races, found infected with two cestodes,  Raillietina echinobothrida found  in most of our specimens, while the dark face found beside R. echinobothrida infected with Idiogenes sp. getting it probably from vertebrate sources. We believe that most of the Baghdad population was intermediate between north and south races.

     The electrical resistivity method is one of the geophysical methods for detecting weak subsurface zone. The 2D resistivity data were used to compare three electrode configurations, Wenner, Dipole-dipole, and Schlumberger, to detect weak subsurface zones along a profile south of Baghdad near the Bismayah pumping station. The results show many zones of low resistivity that may be weak zones. A dipole-dipole array is a large number of measurements and is more sensitive than others.     Three monogenean species of the genus Gyrodactylus viz. G. cotti Roman, 1956 on gills of Planiliza abu, G. mikailovi Ergens & Ibragimov, 1976 on gills of Chondrostoma regium and G. prostae Ergens, 1963 on gills of Alburnus caeruleus were recorded from Tigris river at Al-Shawwaka region, Baghdad.
