Effects of Welding Parameters on Temperature Distribution and Tensile Strength of AA6061-T6 Welded by Friction Stir Welding
...Show More Authors

The present research aims to study the effect of friction stir welding (FSW) parameters on temperature distribution and tensile strength of aluminum 6061-T6. Rotational and traverse speeds used were (500,1000,1400 rpm) and (14,40,112 mm/min) respectively. Results of mechanical tests showed that using 500rpm and 14mm/min speed give the best strength. A three- dimensional fully coupled thermal-stress finite element model via ANSYS software has been developed. The Rate dependent Johnson-Cook relation was utilized for elasto-plastic work deformations. Heat-transfer is formulated using a moving heat source, and later used the transient temperature outputs from the thermal analysis to determine equivalent stresses in the welded plates via a 3-D thermo- mechanical simulation. Motion due to rotation and translation of the tool induces asymmetry in the material flow and heating across the tool pin. The rotation speed results in stirring and mingling of material around the tool and the movable tool moves the stirred material from the front to the back of the tool and finishes welding process. Higher rotation speed rates create higher temperature because of higher friction heating and result in more powerful stirring and mingling of material. A good agreement is evident between experimental and Ansys results.

How Much Do Mothers Know? Evaluating Awareness of Medical Justifications for First Cesarean Deliveries: A Cross-sectional Study
...Show More Authors

Background: The rising rate of cesarean deliveries has generated concern about whether all procedures are medically justified. Limited data exist on how well first-time mothers understand the indications for their cesarean section in Iraq. Objective: To assess maternal knowledge of the medical reasons for the first cesarean delivery and its relationship with sociodemographic, obstetric, and neonatal characteristics. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from October to December 2023 among 158 Iraqi women who underwent their first cesarean delivery. Data were collected using a structured, self-administered online questionnaire that assessed demographic, obstetric, and knowledge-related factors. Results: Less than half of the

Employing the results of evaluating employees'performance in achieving organizational integrity Field study at the Technical Institute in Mosul
...Show More Authors

The objective of the study is to study how to employ performance evaluation in achieving organizational integrity and the impact of performance evaluation on achieving organizational integrity. In light of this, the following questions were raised:

Are the dimensions of organizational integrity available in the field in question?

In order to answer the research questions, a questionnaire questionnaire was distributed to the sample of 30 members of the teaching staff at the Technical Institute in Mosul. The three-dimensional Lycert scale was used. The statistical methods were used, ie, the frequency distribution, the computational circles, the standard deviations, Pearson), simple

NEW RECORD OF THE Genus Pullimosina Roháček, 1983 (DIPTERA, Sphaeroceridae) FROM KERBALA CITY, IRAQ, Study in Forensic Entomology
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>This study aims to know the types of insects belonging to the Sphaeroceridae family. During this study, one species registered for this family for the first time to Iraq (New genus and species). It is using two methods of killing are injurious machine (knife) and toxic substance (strychnine). Four areas within Karbala governorate studied and identified to know their spread and time of presence on the body during the stages of decomposition. During this experiment, the bodies of dogs used to identify types of insects attracted to the body during four seasons. The results indicated the presence of the species Pullimosina heteroneura (Haliday, 1836) in the firs</p> ... Show More

Reliable Reference Gene for Normalization of RT- qPCR Data in Human Cancer Cell Lines
Subjected to Gene Knockdown
...Show More Authors

Quantitative real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) has become a valuable molecular technique in biomedical research. The selection of suitable endogenous reference genes is necessary for normalization of target gene expression in RT-qPCR experiments. The aim of this study was to determine the suitability of each 18S rRNA and ACTB as internal control genes for normalization of RT-qPCR data in some human cell lines transfected with small interfering RNA (siRNA). Four cancer cell lines including MCF-7, T47D, MDA-MB-231 and Hela cells along with HEK293 representing an embryonic cell line were depleted of E2F6 using siRNA specific for E2F6 compared to negative control cells, which were transfected with siRNA not specific for any gene.
