Effects of Welding Parameters on Temperature Distribution and Tensile Strength of AA6061-T6 Welded by Friction Stir Welding
...Show More Authors

The present research aims to study the effect of friction stir welding (FSW) parameters on temperature distribution and tensile strength of aluminum 6061-T6. Rotational and traverse speeds used were (500,1000,1400 rpm) and (14,40,112 mm/min) respectively. Results of mechanical tests showed that using 500rpm and 14mm/min speed give the best strength. A three- dimensional fully coupled thermal-stress finite element model via ANSYS software has been developed. The Rate dependent Johnson-Cook relation was utilized for elasto-plastic work deformations. Heat-transfer is formulated using a moving heat source, and later used the transient temperature outputs from the thermal analysis to determine equivalent stresses in the welded plates via a 3-D thermo- mechanical simulation. Motion due to rotation and translation of the tool induces asymmetry in the material flow and heating across the tool pin. The rotation speed results in stirring and mingling of material around the tool and the movable tool moves the stirred material from the front to the back of the tool and finishes welding process. Higher rotation speed rates create higher temperature because of higher friction heating and result in more powerful stirring and mingling of material. A good agreement is evident between experimental and Ansys results.

Study of salivary IgA concentrations, salivary flow rate in patients with β –thalassemia major in Missan Governorate
...Show More Authors

Background: Beta-thalassemia major is the most common monogenic known disorder in the Middle East, characterized by anomalies in the synthesis of the beta chains of hemoglobin resulting in variable phenotypes ranging from severe anemia to clinically asymptomatic Individuals. This study aimed to evaluate salivary flow rate and salivary IgA in β-thalassemia major patients. Since many oral and systemic conditions manifest themselves as changes in the flow and composition of saliva the dental practitioner is advised to remain up-to-date with this issue. Materials and methods: The study samples consist of (60) subjects, patients group composed of (30) patients with β –thalassemia major, age rang (5-23) years and (30) healthy locking

Exploring the Potential of Quantum Chemical Calculations for Synthesized Quinazoline Derivatives as Superior Corrosion Inhibitors in Acidic Environment
...Show More Authors

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is a substance that is frequently utilized in industrial operations for important tasks such as chemical cleaning and pickling metallic surfaces. Therefore, the corrosion inhibition ability of three newly synthesized quinazoline derivatives namely, 3-allyl-2-(propylthio) quinazolin-4(3H)-one) (APQ), (3-allyl-2-(allylthio) quinazolin-4(3H)-one) (AAQ), (3-allyl- 2-( Prop -2-yn -1-ylthio) Quinazolin - 4 (3H) - one) (AYQ) were theoretically determined and these compounds were characterized using Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) and 1H and 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopic. A series of quantum chemical properties of these derivatives: EHOMO, ELUMO, energy gap (ΔE),dipole moment (μ), hardness (η), soft

The issue of the research lies in the non-representation of the models developed for the communication process in the interaction and networking processes through social media, as the research sought to build a network model of communication according to the specific data and features of social media platforms in order to reach a special generalization to understand how the process of networking operates in cyberspace.

The researcher followed the analytical survey approach as she described the communication models outwardly in order to be able to build a networked communication model that represents the flow of post-reactive communication. Therefore, it has been named "Nebula - Sadeem" after the concept of post-space and cosmic g

Intravascular embolisation of foreign bodies (FB) is a rare, serious complication that may occur during central venous line insertion. A 39-yearold male in a critical condition presented to casualty department with a through-and-through chest gunshot wound. Chest X-ray showed left haemothorax; an urgent chest tube was introduced and central venous access was introduced via the right femoral vein. The guided wire used in the procedure was unintentionally pushed to reach the right ventricular apex. Echocardiography confirmed FB location. Once stabilised, the patient was referred to Iraqi Centre of Cardiac Diseases, where transcatheter retrieval was performed.
