RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF IRAQI ASPHALT BINDERS MEASURED USING SUPERPAVE SYSTEM AND SHELL SOFTWARE
...Show More Authors

The performance grading system (superpave) has provided means to incorporate binder characteristics with
pavement failure types. It’s a comprehensive system that relates climate, traffic conditions and aging with
critical pavement distress. The objective of this paper is to develop an improved asphalt binder grading
system for Iraq based on the principal of superpave. The country was divided into different zones according
to the highest and lowest temperature ranges and traffic loading. The Performance graded binder proposed
for each zone was compared with some States of USA that have same hot weather of Iraq by using Long
Term Pavement Performance (LTPP v3.1) software. Iraqi asphalt samples were tested using the Superpave
technology in Wisconsin University and the results were compared with those estimated using Shell
pavement design software packages (BANDS 2) at different loading time and frequency. In general, the
performance grade of binders produced from the three refineries in Iraq (Daurah, Basrah and Baiji) is PG 64-16. The m- value (slope of log creep stiffness versus log frequency curve at specified temperature)
determined by DSR (Dynamic Shear Rheometer) and Shell software was compared.

Properties of engineered cementitious composite concrete (bendable concrete) produced using Portland limestone cement
...Show More Authors

Bendable concrete, also known as Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) is a type of ultra-ductile cementitious composites reinforced with fibres to control the width of cracks. It has the ability to enhance concrete flexibility by withstanding strains of 3% and higher. The properties of bendable concrete mixes (compressive strength, flexural strength, and drying shrinkage) are here assessed after the incorporation of supplementary cementitious materials, silica fume, polymer fibres, and the use of ordinary Portland cement (O.P.C) and Portland limestone cement (IL). Mixes with Portland limestone cement show lower drying shrinkage and lower compressive and flexural strength than mixes with ordinary Portland cement, due to the ratio o

Calculate the Thermal Properties of (S2F2) Using Semi-empirical Quantum Mechanics (MNDO / PM3)
...Show More Authors

In this paper, thermal properties were performed by using semi-empirical theoretical calculations to study the molecular structure of a nonlinear molecular system, the (S2F2) molecule in the infrared region, by using semi-empirical quantum programs in the (MNDO / PM3) method. This study is under the condition of obtaining the stable structure of the molecule in which the molecule obtains the minimum value of the total energy. The thermodynamic properties were also calculated, including the heat of formation, whose value was (-61.002kcal / mol),  the entropy and its value (78.2916 cal / mol.k), as well as the heat capacity  (15.9454 cal / mol.k) and the enthalpy (3763.434 cal /mol),  Gibbs F

The study was carried out to investigate MLS and vancomycin resistance phenotypes in S.aureus isolated from different clinical samples .A total of 40 of S.aureus isolated from Baghdad hospitals from different clinical samples such as blood , urin, sputum ,skin and ear swabs used to identified MLS and vancomycin resistance phenotypes. The susceptibility pattern showed that 3 islolates (7.5) % constitutive resistance to erythromycin ,clindamycin and streptogramins (cMLS) while 9 isolates (22.5)% gave inducible resistance to erythromycin ,clindamycin and streptogramins (iMLS) , 10 isolates (25)% showed resistance to erythromycin and sensitive to clindamycin (M phenotype) and 18 isolates (45)% of S.aureus isolates had resistance phenotype to

Robust Approach of Optimal Control for DC Motor in Robotic Arm System using Matlab Environment
...Show More Authors

Modern automation robotics have replaced many human workers in industrial factories around the globe. The robotic arms are used for several manufacturing applications, and their responses required optimal control. In this paper, a robust approach of optimal position control for a DC motor in the robotic arm system is proposed. The general component of the automation system is first introduced. The mathematical model and the corresponding transfer functions of a DC motor in the robotic arm system are presented.  The investigations of using DC motor in the robotic arm system without controller lead to poor system performance. Therefore, the analysis and design of a Proportional plus Integration plus Divertive (PID) controller is illustrated.

Adaptive Learning System of Ontology using Semantic Web to Mining Data from Distributed Heterogeneous Environment
...Show More Authors

Nowadays, the process of ontology learning for describing heterogeneous systems is an influential phenomenon to enhance the effectiveness of such systems using Social Network representation and Analysis (SNA). This paper presents a novel scenario for constructing adaptive architecture to develop community performance for heterogeneous communities as a case study. The crawling of the semantic webs is a new approach to create a huge data repository for classifying these communities. The architecture of the proposed system involves two cascading modules in achieving the ontology data, which is represented in Resource Description Framework (RDF) format. The proposed system improves the enhancement of these environments ach

Detection of the photon number splitting attack by using decoy states quantum key distribution system
...Show More Authors

The goal of this work is to check the presence of PNS (photon number splitting) attack in quantum cryptography system based on BB84 protocol, and to get a maximum secure key length as possible. This was achieved by randomly interleaving decoy states with mean photon numbers of 5.38, 1.588 and 0.48 between the signal states with mean photon numbers of 2.69, 0.794 and 0.24. The average length for a secure key obtained from our system discarding the cases with Eavesdropping was equal to 125 with 20 % decoy states and 82 with 50% decoy states for mean photon number of 0.794 for signal states and 1.588 for decoy states.

In this work Laser wireless video communication system using intensity modualtion direct
detection IM/DD over a 1 km range between transmitter and receiver is experimentally investigated and
demonstrated. Beam expander and beam collimeter were implemented to collimete laser beam at the
transmitter and focus this beam at the receiver respectively. The results show that IM/DD communication
sysatem using laser diode is quite attractive for transmitting video signal. In this work signal to noise
ratio (S/N) higher than 20 dB is achieved in this work.

Enhancement of Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Resistance of Cast Iron Alloy Using CO<inf>2</inf> Laser Surface Treatment
...Show More Authors

This work aimed to study the effect of laser surface treatment on the mechanical characteristics and corrosion behaviour of grey cast iron type A159. Many technical applications used conventional surface treatment, but laser surface hardening has recently been used to enhance the surface properties of many alloys. The mechanical characteristics, including microstructure, microhardness, and wear resistance of A159 grey cast iron, were studied, in addition to corrosion behaviour. The experimental laser parameters in this work were 0.9, 1.2, and 1.5 KW power with continuous wave carbon dioxide lasers with scanning speeds of 10 and 12 mm/s were used. The results found that phase-transitional alterations in microstructure were influenced by lase
