Comparison between Linear and Non-linear ANN Models for Predicting Water Quality Parameters at Tigris River
...Show More Authors

In this research, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) technique was applied in an attempt to predict the water levels and some of the water quality parameters at Tigris River in Wasit Government for five different sites. These predictions are useful in the planning, management, evaluation of the water resources in the area. Spatial data along a river system or area at different locations in a catchment area usually have missing measurements, hence an accurate prediction. model to fill these missing values is essential.
The selected sites for water quality data prediction were Sewera, Numania , Kut u/s, Kut d/s, Garaf observation sites. In these five sites models were built for prediction of the water level and water quality parameters. the following (Biological Oxygen Demand( ), Phosphate,( ) Sulfate(), Nitrate( ), Calcium(Ca), Magnesium(Mg), Total Hardness(TH), Potassium(K), Sodium (Na), Chloride (CL), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Electric conductivity (EC), Alkalinity(ALK)). The ANN models tried herein were the Multisite- Multivariate ANN models (5-sites, 14 variables), five models were built, one for each of the five stations as the missing data station. The linear
ANN (traditional) models fail to make the prediction of all variables with high correlation coefficient simultaneously. Hence a non- linear input ANN model was developed herein and believed to be a new modification in ANN modeling. It was found that the ANNs have the ability to predict water level and water quality parameters at all the sites with a good degree of accuracy, the range of correlation coefficients obtained are (12.9%-97.2%) for linear models, while for this model with Non-linear terms, The range of correlation coefficients obtained is (71.8%-99.6%).

Tax Audit and Its Impact on Tax Returns Quality
...Show More Authors

The study aims at showing the role of tax audit in Impact the quality of tax statements. Tax audit is one of the most important means used by tax management to identify taxable revenues in a just, fair manner. The quality of statements relies on the extent to which the information provided by taxpayers is true and accurate. Tax audit works is compatible with the strategy of increasing tax adherence and detecting non-adherence cases and penalizing those who commit such violations. The study reached a number of results and conclusions. One of the most important results is that tax audit helps improve the information content of the taxpayers tax statements. This leads to recalculating taxable incomes and re-fixing t

Congestion management features operate to control congestion once it occurs. One way that network elements handle an overflow of arriving traffic is to use a queuing algorithm to sort the traffic, and then determine some methods of prioritizing it onto an output link. Each queuing algorithm was designed to solve a specific network traffic problem and has a particular effect on the network performance. The work presented in this thesis deals with important issue that is the quality of service (QoS) techniques, which can be integrated to enhance the operation of the network. The quality of service is the collective effect on service performance, which determines the degree of satisfaction of a user of the service. In this thesis, packet sched

Victims of Terrorism between Compensation and Loss of Rights: A Comparative Study between Iraqi Law and French Law
...Show More Authors

The problem of the damage caused by terrorist acts has raised many difficulties in many countries, including Iraq, which requires the existence of a law that sets out sufficient rules for compensating the victims of terrorist acts, in order to compensate them for the harm they have not suffered. It may be difficult or impossible for them to identify causing damage, and therefore unable to obtain compensation by applying the traditional rules of liability that require proof of fault and identify the culprit. The security funds come as an appropriate alternative that pays compensation in such cases for victims to reparation for the damage they suffered. Therefore, this problem remains one of the most problems that Iraq suffers from it, which
