Comparison between Linear and Non-linear ANN Models for Predicting Water Quality Parameters at Tigris River
...Show More Authors

In this research, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) technique was applied in an attempt to predict the water levels and some of the water quality parameters at Tigris River in Wasit Government for five different sites. These predictions are useful in the planning, management, evaluation of the water resources in the area. Spatial data along a river system or area at different locations in a catchment area usually have missing measurements, hence an accurate prediction. model to fill these missing values is essential.
The selected sites for water quality data prediction were Sewera, Numania , Kut u/s, Kut d/s, Garaf observation sites. In these five sites models were built for prediction of the water level and water quality parameters. the following (Biological Oxygen Demand( ), Phosphate,( ) Sulfate(), Nitrate( ), Calcium(Ca), Magnesium(Mg), Total Hardness(TH), Potassium(K), Sodium (Na), Chloride (CL), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Electric conductivity (EC), Alkalinity(ALK)). The ANN models tried herein were the Multisite- Multivariate ANN models (5-sites, 14 variables), five models were built, one for each of the five stations as the missing data station. The linear
ANN (traditional) models fail to make the prediction of all variables with high correlation coefficient simultaneously. Hence a non- linear input ANN model was developed herein and believed to be a new modification in ANN modeling. It was found that the ANNs have the ability to predict water level and water quality parameters at all the sites with a good degree of accuracy, the range of correlation coefficients obtained are (12.9%-97.2%) for linear models, while for this model with Non-linear terms, The range of correlation coefficients obtained is (71.8%-99.6%).

Analysis of Serum Il-6 and CRP Levels among Autoimmune and Non- Autoimmune Hypothyroid Patients
...Show More Authors

Hashimoto Thyroiditis (HT) is the most common autoimmune thyroid disease and the commonest cause ofhypothyroidism. C-reactive protein (CRP) is synthesized in hepatocyte in response to autoimmune disorders;strongly induced by IL-6. This study aimed to estimate serum IL-6 and CRP levels in autoimmune and non-autoimmune hypothyroidism. The present study included 60 Iraqi female hypothyroid patients divided to 30autoimmune and 30 non-autoimmune, with age ranged between 24-50 years and 30 healthy controls withage ranged between 27-52 years. Serum samples were collected from study groups. The levels of thyroidhormones (TSH, T4 and T3) were determined by using automated Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA)analysis system. Detection the levels of t

From Non‑Intervention to Non‑Indifference: What the African Union Has Really Learned about Crisis Management
...Show More Authors

Two decades after replacing the OAU, the AU’s record is best measured not by communiqués but by how fast it converts rules into results on the ground. In March 2022, the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (PSC) authorised the transition from AMISOM to ATMIS in Somalia — a reminder that, two decades after the African Union (AU) replaced the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), the Union’s rules are judged by execution, not intent. This article argues that the AU’s legal and institutional redesign shortened the warning‑to‑decision cycle and raised the credibility of enforcement, but performance still hinges on finance, logistics and political will. Where mandates are matched with money, enabling capabilities and enforc

Investigating the shear and velocity profiles within the estuary of Shatt Al-Arab river, Southern Iraq
...Show More Authors

orphological changes, represented by erosion and sedimentation, are a natural phenomenon that occurs in most river estuaries, causing changes in waterways and affecting offshore structures. One of these estuaries is the Shatt Al-Arab River estuary, which is the main waterway for trade and a major outlet for oil exports, is suffering from these changes. Moreover, the Thalweg Line, which is the deepest point within the estuary, forms the international border between Iraq and Iran. This line is moving at some rate towards the Iraqi land. To understand the process of erosion and sedimentation within the Shatt Al-Arab River estuary, a hydraulic mathematical simulation by using both HEC RAS and ANSYS Software. The HEC RAS was used to simulate the

The tagged research is concerned with observation and investigating the concepts of consistency and harmony in contemporary Iraqi painting (selected models) in order to reveal the mechanisms and rules of these two concepts in the artistic field and their mechanisms of operation. How reflected tools Consistency and harmony in contemporary Iraqi painting? What is consistency and what are its mechanisms and principles? Is consistency a unit product quality? Are there similarities between consistency and harmony? What is harmony and its principles and rules? As for the second chapter, it included two topics that dealt with the first topic - consistency and harmony between concept and significance, while the second topic meant - histor

The role of the forensic accounting philosophy in the transparency and quality of financial statements: : An applied study on a sample of workers at the Trade bank of Iraq and the Gulf Commercial Bank in Babylon
...Show More Authors

This research aims to identify the role that forensic accounting plays on the transparency and quality of the financial statements in trade bank of Iraq and the Gulf Commercial Bank in Babylon. This research came to address the problem that most financial institutions suffer from, which is represented by the lack of transparency and the quality of the financial statements issued in a manner. Annual also the manipulation and fraud in the financial data, which causes a big gap between that institutions and organizational stakeholders. According to the implementation of the research hypothesis and the objectives of the research, a questionnaire was prepared consisting of three axes, the first axis dealing with the demographic distri

Microwave Pyrolysis of Water hyacinth for Biochar Production Using Taguchi Method
...Show More Authors

The manuscript should contain an abstract. The abstract should be self-contained and citation-free and should not exceed 200 words. The abstract should state the purpose, approach, results and conclusions of the work. The author should assume that the reader has some knowledge of the subject but has not read the paper. Thus, the abstract should be intelligible and complete in it-self (no numerical references); it should not cite figures, tables, or sections of the paper. The abstract should be written using third person instead of first perso The fast microwave assisted pyrolysis (FMWAP) of water hyacinth (WH) for biochar production is investigated. Taguchi’s method was used to optimize FMWAP parameters. The effects of microwave

Chlorine concentration-time (C-T) plot for Echhornia Crassipes in water
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Eichhornia, or water hyacinth represents a serious threat to potable water basins. This problem is materialized majorly in consuming large amounts of water and dissolved Oxygen that is necessary for aquatic life, and minorly in hindering water streams. Even there are limited trials to overcome such pests, none of them presents an acceptable solution economically and logically. Chlorine is a well-known biocide and broadly used in water industry. It could give a possible method to fight such weed. To investigate that, concentration-time plot should be introduced similar to any other microorganisms; especially, bacteria in water. In this work, various doses of Chlorine along various time
... Show More

The research aims to find ways to minimize the use of quantities of chemical fertilizers in agriculture in order to get to an environment that is free of contaminants. Magnetized water technology used in the experience of planting seeds of tomatoes Thomson type to obtain a higher efficiency to absorb fertilizer NRK in the protected environment of the period from February to June. Magnetized water system used locally made levels Gaues (4800,2500,1500) concentrations of 50 to 100% for each level and the rate of (4) replicates, and results indicated that the severity of the magnet (4800 Gaues) and a concentration of 50% gave the highest percentage of tomato fruit size and intensity ( 1500 Gaues) and a concentration of 100% did not give any inc
