Removal of 4-Chlorophenoles from Simulated Wastewater by Advanced Oxidation Processes
...Show More Authors

The degradation and mineralization of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) by advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) was investigated in this work, using both of UV/H2O2 and photo-Fenton UV/H2O2/Fe+3 systems. The reaction was influenced by the input concentration of H2O2, the amount of the iron catalyst, the type of iron salt, the pH and the concentration of 4-CP. A colored solution of benzoquinon can be observed through the first 5 minutes of irradiation time for UV/H2O2 system when low concentration (0.01mol/L) of H2O2 was used. The colored solution of benzoquinon could also be observed through the first 5 minutes for the UV/H2O2/Fe+3 system at high
concentration (100ppm) of 4-CP. The results have shown that adding Fe+3 to the UV/H2O2 system enhanced the rate of 4-CP oxidation at a molar ratio of H2O2/Fe+3/4-CP equals to 13/0.4/1 by a factor of 7. This reduced the consumption of H2O2 by a factor of 6 and the irradiation time required for complete degradation was reduced by a factor of 6. The experimental results have shown that the optimum reagents for a complete degradation of 4-CP(50ppm) were H2O2.=0.005mol/L, Fe+3=0.16*10-3 mol/L under acidic
condition (pH=3) and irradiation time of 15 min for the UV/H2O2/Fe+3 system with a molar ratio of H2O2/Fe+3/4-CP equals to 13/0.4/1.

“Orodispersible Tablet” a tablet that is to be placed in oral cavity where it disperses rapidly by saliva with no need for water before swallowing. Zaltoprofen (ZLP) is one of NSAIDs which is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis as well as to relieve inflammation and pain after surgery, injury and tooth extraction. The present study was aimed to prepare rapidly dissolved lyophilized Zaltoprofen tablet with different pharmaceutical excipients and studying the factors affecting pharmaceutical properties like (solubility, disintegration time DT, dissolution, etc.) of tablets. The lyophilized disintegrating tablets (LDTs) were prepared using Zydis technique by lyophilization an aqueous

Thermal Conductivity Enhancement of Iraqi Origin Paraffin Wax by Nano-Alumina
...Show More Authors

Abstract

Paraffin wax is utilized for the heat storage applications taking advantage from the high stored latent heat during the phase change (from solid to fluid) period. What isn't right with this procedure is that the wax has a little heat transfer rate because of its low thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity improvement of the paraffin wax has been examined utilizing nano-material with high thermal conductivity. In the recent study, (Al2O3) nanoparticles with weights of 1, 2, and 3% of the paraffin wax were added to the paraffin wax. The Iraqi paraffin wax accessible at the local markets was utilized as a phase change material (PCM).

Design of Two-Layer Roller Compacted Concrete with Joints by KENSLAB
...Show More Authors

Roller compacted concrete (RCC) is a type of rigid pavement that is designed in a similar way to conventional concrete pavements reflecting its mode of failure. The thickness design of RCC pavements is based on keeping the flexural stresses and fatigue damage in the pavement caused by wheel loads within allowable limits. As in all jointed concrete pavements, there is a greater effect from loads placed along edges and less at interior locations in the pavement. Joints in RCC pavement are clearly critical areas and form weak points. RCC is typically constructed with saw-cut joints to prevent random cracking, improve the appearance of the pavement surface, and maintain the highest possible load transfer across the joints. Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization of Platinum Nanoparticles by Plasma Jet Method
...Show More Authors

In this research, Argon gas was used to generate atmospheric plasma in the manufacture of platinum nanomaterials, to study the resultant plasma spectrum and to calculate the cellular toxicity of those manufactured nanomaterials. This research is keen on the generation of nonthermal atmospheric pressure plasma using aqueous platinum salts (H2PtCl6 6H2O) with different concentrations and exposure of cold plasma with a different time period used to produce platinum nanoparticles, to ensure typical preparation of nanoparticles. Visible UV and X-rays were performed for this purpose, and the diameter of the system probe was (1[Formula: see text]mm) with the Argon gas flow of

Structural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Flat Plates Strengthened by Horizontal Reinforcement
...Show More Authors

Flat plate structures consist of a slab supported directly by columns without beams or drop panels, resulting in a thinner slab with more efficient use of space. Despite these advantages, a flat plate slab is subjected to brittle punching shear. Sudden collapse may occur when a column pushes a piece of concrete from the slab above it. This paper displays Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS/ CAE 2019 to simulate the punching shear impact on a flat plate strengthened with horizontal steel bars of varying number and diameter, located at the compressive side of the slab. A numerical model was constructed with 8-noded hexahedral 3D brick elements for concrete and 2-noded linear 2D beam elements for steel reinforcement. The model w

Assessment of Urban Resiliance by Using (AHP) in Relation with (ANP)
...Show More Authors

Urban resilience is an important part of the sustainable urban development agenda, providing a proactive approach to the growing challenges within cities and making them more responsive and safer for the future. Therefore, the research problem was to ask: How can the integration of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytical Network Process (ANP) be used to determine which cities have the most resilient systems in the event of an emergency? It is assumed that the use of integration between the AHP and ANP will facilitate the initial assessment of the resilience of city systems and the development of policies and measures that would improve urban resilience. A model will be built using the AHP and ANP that helps in the initial asse

Green synthesis of CdS:Sn NPs by Starch as a Covering Agent and Studying its Physical Properties
...Show More Authors

The aim of this research is to employ starch as a stabilizing and reducing agent in the production of CdS nanoparticles with less environmental risk, easy scaling, stability, economical feasibility, and suitability for large-scale production. Nanoparticles of CdS have been successfully produced by employing starch as a reducing agent in a simple green synthesis technique and then doped with Sn in certain proportions (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%).According to the XRD data, the samples were crystallized in a hexagonal pattern, because the average crystal size of pure CdS is 5.6nm and fluctuates in response to the changes in doping concentration 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 %wt Sn, to become   4.8, 3.9, 11.5, 13.1, 9.3 nm respectively. An increase in crystal

allowed direct electronic transition calculated using Tauc equation
and it increases for doped Co3O4. The photo sensing properties of
thin films are studied as a function of time at different wavelengths to
find the sensitivity for these lights.
