This paper presents a study of wavelet self-organizing maps (WSOM) for face recognition. The WSOM is a feed forward network that estimates optimized wavelet based for the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) on the basis of the distribution of the input data, where wavelet basis transforms are used as activation function.

This paper focuses on the transition to IPv6 mechanisms. Also, this paper proposes and tests a deployment of IPv6 prototype within the intranet of the University of Baghdad (BUniv) using virtualization software. Also, it deals with security issues, improvements and extensions of IPv6 network using firewalls, Virtual Private Network ( VPN), Access list ( ACLs). The aim of this work is to study a modified version of the four-dimensional Lotka-Volterra model. In this model, all of the four species grow logistically. This model has at most sixteen possible equilibrium points. The synchronization of a complex network with optoelectronic feedback has been introduced theoretically, with use of 2×2 oscillators network; each oscillator considered is an optocoupler (LED coupled with photo-detector). Fixing the bias current (δ) and increasing the feedback strength (Ԑ) of each oscillator, the dynamical sequence like chaotic and periodic mixed mode oscillations has been observed. Synchronization of unidirectionally coupled of light emitting diodes network has been featured when coupling strength equal to 1.7×10-4. The transition between non-synchronization and synchronization states by means of the spatio-temporal distribution has been investigated.

Exposure assays to magnetized water have so far revealed striking results.      This paper introduced an algorithm for lossless image compression to compress natural and medical images. It is based on utilizing various casual fixed predictors of one or two dimension to get rid of the correlation or spatial redundancy embedded between image pixel values then a recursive polynomial model of a linear base is used.

The experimental results of the proposed compression method are promising in terms of preserving the details and the quality of the reconstructed images as well improving the compression ratio as compared with the extracted results of a traditional linear predicting coding system.
