Effect of Petroleum Products on Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete

This Investigation aims to study the effect of adding Steel fibers with different volume fractions Vf (o.5, 0.75, and 1% by volume of concrete) with aspect ratio 100 on mechanical properties of concrete, and also
finding the influence of petroleum products (Kerosene and Diesel) on mechanical properties of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC).
The experimental work consists of two groups: group one consists of specimens (cubes and prisms) plain and concrete reinforced with steel fiber exposed to continuous curing with water. Group two consists of
specimens (cubes and prisms) plain and concrete reinforced with steel fiber exposed to kerosene and diesel after curing them in water for 28 days before exposure. The results of all tests refer that the specimens (plain and reinforced concrete with steel fiber with different volume fraction) exposed to kerosene were better than the specimens (plain and reinforced concrete with steel fiber with different volume fraction) exposed to diesel.

The effect of sulfide content(x) on the electrical properties of (ZnSx Se1-x) thin films

Thin films of ZnSxSe1-x with different sulfide content(x)
(0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.8, and 0.1), thickness (t) (0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 μm) and annealing temperature (Ta) (R.T 373 and 423K) were fabricated by thermal evaporating under vacuum of 10-5 Toor on glass substrate. The results show that the increasing of sulfide content (x)and annealing temperature lead to decrease the d.c conductivity σDC of and concentration of charge carriers (nH) but increases the activation energy (Ea1,Ea2), while the increasing of t increases σDC and nH but decrease (Ea1,Ea2). The results were explained in different terms

Effect of Mulching, Manures and chemical fertilizers on anatomical characters of (Solanum tuberosum L.) potato plants

Anatomy studies were carried out in the experimental field, College of Agriculture, University of Baghdad to have better understanding of the influence of mulching with black polyethylene sheets, organic manure and chemical fertilizer on the anatomy changes in potato shoot and leaves tissues. Results showed that leaves area, leaves area index and chlorophyll percentage were significantly increased by using mulching and chemical fertilizer by (7463.70 cm2, 3.97, 45.33 SPAD units) respectively. The effect of Mentha viridis and Apium graveolens leaves on growth of Beta vulgaris var. cilica

The experimental was carried out to study the effect of Mentha viridis and Apium graveolensleaves by 5, 10 gm/kg soil that added then to soil alone and 5, 10 gm/kg soil together on growth of Beta vulgaris plants. The results showed that increased significantly germination accelerator, plant height leaves number fresh and dry maters, chlorophyll content, absolute growth rate, inflorescence number, fertilizer efficiency while the N, P, K and Fe increased in all the treatment plants compared with control plants.

This experiment was conducted to study the effect of feeding diets containing different levels of parsley on the blood biochemical characteristics of local Iraqi geese. A total of twenty-four local geese, one year old, were used in this experiment during the period from the beginning of October to the end of December. The inhibition effect of crude juice of olive Olea europeae on cancer cell line Rhabdomyosarcoma (RD)

The inhibition effect of crude juice of green and black olive on cancer cell line (RD) in vitro has been studied by depending on micro titration system . Eleven different concentration starting from (916-960) mg/ml of crude juice respectively ,for three periods of exposure(24-48-72)hours. The resulted showed that the inhibition effect dependent on type of olive fruit juice ,concentration of dose ,time of exposure and the high concentration of both type of olive juice increased the growth of cell line while other concentration caused decrease in different rates ,moreover the black juice was more effective than green and 48 hours' time exposure was the best for inhibition.
