GENERATION OF MPSK SIGNAL USING LOGIC CIRCUITS
...Show More Authors

The traditional technique of generating MPSK signals is basically to use IQ modulator that involves analog processing like multiplication and addition where inaccuracies may exist and would lead to imbalance problems that affects the output modulated signal and hence the overall performance of the system. In this paper, a simple method is presented for generating the MPSK using logic circuits that basically generated M-carrier signals each carrier of different equally spaced phase shift. Then these carriers are time multiplexed, according to the data symbols, into the output modulated signal.

Solving Nonlinear COVID-19 Mathematical Model Using a Reliable Numerical Method
...Show More Authors

This research aims to numerically solve a nonlinear initial value problem presented as a system of ordinary differential equations. Our focus is on epidemiological systems in particular. The accurate numerical method that is the Runge-Kutta method of order four has been used to solve this problem that is represented in the epidemic model. The COVID-19 mathematical epidemic model in Iraq from 2020 to the next years is the application under study. Finally, the results obtained for the COVID-19 model have been discussed tabular and graphically. The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic can be observed via the behavior of the different stages of the model that approximates the behavior of actual the COVID-19 epidemic in Iraq. In our study, the COV

Improving Reverse Engineering Processes by using Articulated Arm Coordinate Measuring Machine
...Show More Authors

The invention relates to a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for determining a measuring position of a probe. The AACMM isdepends on the robotkinematics (forward and reverse) in their measurementprinciple, i.e., using the AACMM links and joint angles todetermine the exact workspace or part coordinates. Hence, themeasurements are obtained using an AACMM will be extremely accurate and precise since that ismerely dependent on rigid structural parameters and the only source of measurement error is due to human operators. In this paper, a new AACMM design was proposed. The new AACMM design addresses common issues such as solving the complex kinematics, overcoming the workspace limitation, avoiding singularity, and eliminating the effects of

Technique For Image De-blurring Using Adaptive Wavelet Lagrange Fuzzy Filter
...Show More Authors

A new de-blurring technique was proposed in order to reduced or remove the blur in the images. The proposed filter was designed from the Lagrange interpolation calculation with adjusted by fuzzy rules and supported by wavelet decomposing technique. The proposed Wavelet Lagrange Fuzzy filter gives good results for fully and partially blurring region in images.

Content Based Image Clustering Technique Using Statistical Features and Genetic Algorithm
...Show More Authors

Text based-image clustering (TBIC) is an insufficient approach for clustering related web images. It is a challenging task to abstract the visual features of images with the support of textual information in a database. In content-based image clustering (CBIC), image data are clustered on the foundation of specific features like texture, colors, boundaries, shapes. In this paper, an effective CBIC) technique is presented, which uses texture and statistical features of the images. The statistical features or moments of colors (mean, skewness, standard deviation, kurtosis, and variance) are extracted from the images. These features are collected in a one dimension array, and then genetic algorithm (GA) is applied for image clustering.

Zirconium Sulfate as Catalyst for Biodiesel Production by Using Reactive Distillation
...Show More Authors

Production of fatty acid esters (biodiesel) from oleic acid and 2-ethylhexanol using sulfated zirconia as solid catalyst for the production of biodiesel was investigated in this work.

The parameters studied were temperature of reaction (100 to 130°C), molar ratio of alcohol to free fatty acid (1:1 to 3:1), concentration of catalyst (0.5 to 3%wt), mixing speed (500 to 900 rpm) and types of sulfated zirconia (i.e modified, commercial, prepared  catalyst according to literature and reused catalyst). The results show the best conversion to biodiesel was 97.74% at conditions of 130°C, 3:1, 2wt% and 650 rpm using modified catalyst respectively. Also, modified c

Using Steel Slag for Stabilizing Clayey Soil in Sulaimani City-Iraq
...Show More Authors

The clayey soils have the capability to swell and shrink with the variation in moisture content. Soil stabilization is a well-known technique, which is implemented to improve the geotechnical properties of soils. The massive quantities of waste materials are resulting from modern industry methods create disposal hazards in addition to environmental problems. The steel industry has a waste that can be used with low strength and weak engineering properties soils. This study is carried out to evaluate the effect of steel slag (SS) as a by-product of the geotechnical properties of clayey soil. A series of laboratory tests were conducted on natural and stabilized soils. SS was added by 0, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, and 20% to the soil.

Anomaly Based Intrusion Detection System Using Hierarchical Classification and Clustering Techniques
...Show More Authors

With the rapid development of computers and network technologies, the security of information in the internet becomes compromise and many threats may affect the integrity of such information. Many researches are focused theirs works on providing solution to this threat. Machine learning and data mining are widely used in anomaly-detection schemes to decide whether or not a malicious activity is taking place on a network. In this paper a hierarchical classification for anomaly based intrusion detection system is proposed. Two levels of features selection and classification are used. In the first level, the global feature vector for detection the basic attacks (DoS, U2R, R2L and Probe) is selected. In the second level, four local feature vect

Heavy Metals Removal from Simulated Wastewater using Horizontal Subsurface Constructed Wetland
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to assess the efficiency of Nerium oleander in removing three different metals (Cd, Cu, and Ni) from simulated wastewater using horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetland (HSSF-CW) system. The HSSF-CW pilot scale was operated at two hydraulic retention times (HRTs) of 4 and 7 days, filled with a substrate layer of sand and gravel. The results indicated that the HSSF-CW had high removal efficiency of Cd and Cu. A higher HRT (7 days) resulted in greater removal efficiency reaching up to (99.3% Cd, 99.5% Cu, 86.3% Ni) compared to 4 days. The substrate played a significant role in removal of metals due to adsorption and precipitation. The N. oleander plant also showed a good tolerance to the uptake of Cd, Cu, and Ni ions fr
