Proteus mirabilis ? -lactamase of local isolates number 4TF represent karkh side and 20TF represent rusafa side of Baghdad were extracted and purified 23.17, 25.23 fold with yield of 36.66 %, 37.5% and specific activity 11.8, 12.6 of unit/ mg protein by DEAE –cellulose and Sepharose 4B (respectively ).Molecular weight of both enzyme was about 35500 Dalton determined by gel filtration. The study indicated that the isoelectric point of purified ? -lactamase that extracted from isolate number 4TF and 20TF was 5.4.

The formation and structural investigation of three new Mannich bases are reported. The synthesis of these compounds was accomplished via a multicomponent one-pot reaction using CaCl2 as a catalyst. The reaction of the benzaldehyde, m-bromoaniline and cyclohexanone or 4-methylcyclohexanone resulted in the formation of L1 and L3, respectively. The synthesis of L2 was achieved by mixing benzaldehyde, o-bromoaniline and cyclohexanone. The isolated compounds were characterised using a range of analytical and spectroscopic techniques. Complexes of Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II) and Zn(II) with mixed ligands of phenylalanine (L) and tributylphosphine (TBPh) were prepared in aqueous ethanol with (2:1:1) (M:L:TBPh). The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption,(C.H.N)Analysis, FT.IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. In addition biological activity of the phenylalanine and complexes against two selected type of bacteria were also examined. Some of the complexes exhibit good bacterial activities. From the obtained data the octahedral structure was suggested for all prepared complexes.

It is suitable to use precast steel-concrete composite beams to quickly assemble a bridge or a building, particularly in isolated regions where cast-in-situ concrete is not a practical option. If steel-concrete composite beams are designed to allow demountability, they can also be extremely useful in the aftermath of natural disasters, such as earthquakes or flooding, to replace damaged infrastructure.
