Evaluation of the Physical and Chemical Treatment of Wastewater for the Dairy Industry

Dairy wastewater generally contains fats, lactose, whey proteins, and nutrients. Casein precipitation causes the effluent to decompose into a dark, strong-smelling sludge. Fluid waste contains soluble organic matter, suspended solids, and gaseous organic matter, which cause undesirable taste and smell, grant tone and turbidity, and advance eutrophication, which plays an essential role in increasing biological oxygen demand (BOD) in water. It also contains detergents and disinfecting agents from the rinses and washing processes, which increase the need for chemical oxygen (COD). One of the characteristics of dairy effluents is their relatively high temperature, high organic contents, and wide pH range, so the discharge of wastewater into water bodies without treatment leads to deterioration of water quality and ecological imbalance, and therefore treatment is required. To remove or reduce environmental damage. Dairy wastewater treatment includes mechanical, physical, chemical, and biological methods.

Organic treatment techniques are reasonable for treating wastewater from the dairy business because of their high biodegradability. Notwithstanding, the long-chain unsaturated fats framed during lipid hydrolysis show an inhibitory impact during anaerobic treatment. Chain block reactors (SBR) and top stream anaerobic slop cover of sludge (UASB) frameworks are the most encouraging advancements for the organic treatment of dairy wastewater. Many papers have applied high-impact exercise and technical methods to the dairy business's anaerobic wastewater treatment of dairy wastewater. However, the two techniques actually have a few disadvantages. The most vital objective of these studies is to track down savvy and naturally manageable ways to deal with and empower the reuse and management of wastewater and waste. Consequently, elective treatments to organic treatment are physical and substance techniques, for example, coagulation, retention, layer cycles, and electrolysis. This section gives a primary survey zeroing in on physical and compound treatment strategies for dairy wastewater treatment. It is under study and checked for its viability.

Pharmaceutical Wastewater Treatment Associated with Renewable Energy Generation in Microbial Fuel Cell Based on Mobilized Electroactive Biofilm on Zeolite Bearer

In this study, a novel application of lab-scale dual chambered air-cathode microbial fuel cell (MFC) has been developed for simultaneous bio-treatment of real pharmaceutical wastewater and renewable electricity generation. The microbial fuel cell (MFC) was provided with zeolite-packed anodic compartment and a cation exchange membrane (CEM) to separate the anode and cathode. The performance of the proposed MFC was evaluated in terms of COD removal and power generation based on the activity of the bacterial consortium in the biofilm mobilized on zeolite bearer. PHYSICAL MODEL OF KEROSENE PLUME MIGRATION IN AN UNSATURATED ZONE OF THE SANDY SOIL

domain above the water table. Four laboratory experiments were carried out in the sand-filled
tank. The evolution of the plume was observed through the transparent side of this tank and the
contaminant front was traced at appropriate intervals. The materials used in these experiments
were Al-Najaf sand as a porous medium and kerosene as contaminant.
The results of the experiments showed that after kerosene spreading comes to a halt (ceased) in
the homogeneous sand, the bulk of this contaminant is contained within a pancake-shaped lens
situated on top of the capillary fringe.

Raman spectroscopy analysis for monitoring of chemical composition of aspirin after exposure to plasma flame

A Raman spectroscopy method was optimised to examine the chemical changes of aspirin tablets after interaction with helium temperatures. Several aspirin tablets were exposed to plasma-assisted desorption ionisation flame for different times (10, 30, 50, 60, 180 and 300s) and then analysed by Raman spectroscopy using optimal conditions. The changes in chemistry between exposed and fresh (without exposure to plasma) tablets were compared. The vibrational peaks of the aspirin molecule in the Raman spectrum were identified by checking the peak position. The current study was conducted with the aim of fortifying meat burger with the protein isolate extracted from defatted sweetened and unsweetened apricot kernels. The antimicrobial activity of defatted apricot kernels and protein isolates of sweetened and unsweetened kernels against some pathogenic microbes was studied, and it was characterized by its effect on gram-positive bacteria more than gram-negative bacteria.
