Removal of Acidic Dye from Aqueous Solution Using Surfactant Modified Bentonite (Organoclay): Batch and Kinetic Study
...Show More Authors

Modified bentonite has been used as effective sorbent material for the removal of acidic dye (methyl orange) from aqueous solution in batch system. The natural bentonite has been modified using cationic surfactant (cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide) in order to obtain an efficient sorbent through converting the properties of bentonite from hydrophilic to organophilic. The characteristics of the natural and modified bentonite were examined through several analyses such as Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and Surface area. The batch study was provided the maximum dye removal efficiency of 88.75 % with a sorption capacity of 555.56 mg/g at specified conditions (150 min, pH= 2, 250 rpm, and 0.5 g/100 ml). The-results-showed that with the Freundlich isotherm model the sorption data was accurately described with (R2≥0.94) in comparison with the Langmuir model under the studied conditions. The kinetic studies were revealed that the sorption follows a pseudo-second-order kinetic model which indicates chemisorption between sorbent and sorbate molecules.

Effect of (1,4) phenylenediamine on the corrosion of lead in 1M hydrochloric acid solution
...Show More Authors

The accelerating effect of 1,4- phenylenediamine (PDA) additions in 1M hydrochloric acid solution at temperature rang (20-60) C° has been studied by weight losses measurement during ranging time (1-260) h and by following the pb2+ concentration in solution after several times by using Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) . The volume of hydrogen gas involving was followed also in presence and absence of (PDA) in the corrosive solution .Accelerating enhanced by adding (NaCl , NaBr , NaI ) was also investigated.

THE RELATIVE QUANTUM EFFICIENCY OF ANTHRACENE SOLUTION AS A FUNCTION OF LIGHT EXPOSURE DURATION
...Show More Authors

Abstract In this paper the effect of light exposure duration on Anthracene solution in chloroform is studied. It is found that: the Anthracene solution change its color when it is exposed to light, and that its relative quantum efficiency, Φ, decreases as the light exposure duration, t, increases and this govern by following empirical equation:- Φ = 0.7918-0.0762 In (t)

The new ligand [N1,N4-bis((1H-benzo[d]Glyoxalin-2-yl)carbamothioyl)Butanedi amide] (NCB) derived from Butanedioyl diisothiocyanate with 2-aminobenz imidazole was used to prepare a chain of new metal complexes of Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II), Ag(I), Cd(II) by general formula [M(NCB)]Xn ,Where M= Cr(III), n=3, X=Cl; Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II), Cd(II) ,n=2 , X=Cl; Ag(I), n=1, X=NO3. Characterized compounds on the basis of 1H, 13CNMR (for (NCB), FT-IR and U.V spectrum, melting point, molar conduct, %C, %H, %N and %S, the percentage of the metal in complexes %M, Magnetic susceptibility, thermal studies (TGA),while its corrosion inhibition for mild steel in Ca(OH)2 solution is studied by weight loss. Study the Effect of using RAP in Warm Mix Asphalt Pavement.
...Show More Authors

Sustainability is providing the needs without compromising the ability of the strategical forming to meet their requirements. The production of warm asphalt mixtures using recycled pavements produces economic and environmentally friendly mixtures, which is the most important advantage of this work. This research aims to determine the effect of recycled asphalt concrete (RAP) on the indirect tensile strength of warm asphalt mixtures and Marshall Properties. Models of warm asphalt mixtures using Aggregate from the Al-Nibaay quarry, Asphalt with a degree of penetration (40-50) from the refinery of the cycle, and obtained Recycled asphalt concrete from Salah Al-Din Road, Al-Ameriya area in Baghdad are prepared. The Effect Of Aqueous Extract Of Anastatica Hierochuntica On Some Hormones In Mouse Females
...Show More Authors

Anastatica hierochuntica is believed to be very useful in Arab countries for treating various health disorders. The aqueous extract of Anastatica hierochuntica was investigated for its effects on hormones in mice females. the aqueous extract of plant at a dose level of 100mg/1mL showed significant increase (p<0.05) on levels of hormones LH, FSH, PRL level and PRO level. Clomid treated group showd significant increase in LH, FSH, and PRL while there was non-significant increase in PRO. From the above results, it is concluded for the first time that aqueous Anastatica hierchuntica extract offers significant effect of LH, FSH, PRL, and PRO in this mice females scompared with control.
