Monthly water samples from three stations in Diwanya river at Diwanyia city were collected during December 1999 to June 2000. Variables from each stations were determined including ; temperature, pH ,dissolved oxygen, dissolved carbon dioxide , alkalinity ,total hardness, calcium ,magnesium , phosphate, nitrite, nitrate, chlorophyll-a , and total number of phytoplankton .The river considered as fresh water , alkaline ,very hard .The parameters recorded at different values from up and down stream.

In this study; a three-dimensional model was created to simulate groundwater in Al-Haydariyah area of the governorate of Al-Najaf. A solid model was created to utilize the cross sections of 25 boreholes in the research region, and it was made out of two layers: sand and clay. The steady-state calibration was employed in six observation wells to calibrate the model and establish the hydraulic conductivity, which was 17.49 m/d for sand and 1.042 m/d for clay, with a recharge rate of 0.00007 m/day. Iraq is located near the northern tip of the Arabian plate, which is advancing northwards relative to the Eurasian plate, and is predictably, a tectonically active country. Seismic activity in Iraq increased significantly during the last decade. So structural and geotechnical engineers have been giving increasing attention to the design of buildings for earthquake resistance. Dynamic properties play a vital role in the design of structures subjected to seismic load. The main objective of this study is to prepare a data base for the dynamic properties of different soils in seismic active zones in Iraq using the results of cross hole and down hole tests. From the data base collected it has been observed that the average ve
