The present study conducted to study epipelic algae in the Tigris River within Baghdad city for one year from September 2011 to August 2012 due to the importance role of benthic algae in lotic ecosystems. Five sites have been chosen along the river. A total of 154 species of epipelic algae was recorded belongs to 45 genera, where Bacillariophyceae (Diatoms) was the dominant groups followed by Cyanophyceae and Chlorophyceae. The numbers of common types in three sites were 47 species. Bacillariophyceae accounted 88.31% of the total number of epipelic algae, followed by Cyanophyceae 7.14 % and Chlorophyceae 4.55%. The study involved 120 women, who were distributed into two groups of breast tumor patients (30 malignant and 30 benign) and a group of controls (60 women). The patients were referred to the Center for Early Detection of Breast Tumor at Al-Alwayia Hospital for Gynecology and Obstetrics (Baghdad) during the period June-December 2011. They were investigated for the frequency of ABO blood group phenotypes, menopausal status, oral contraceptive use, body mass index and family history of breast cancer or other cancers. the pubertal maturity and fertility status in cases with thalassemia. A sixty patients
[38 males and 22 females] with β - thalassemia major against 30 healthy subjects

Adenosine deaminase (ADA) and lipid profile may be associated with some diseases. Parasitic diseases have also been reported to be associated with ADA and lipid profiles. This study aimed to evaluate ADA, lipid profile, and total protein among children infected with E.vermicularis. This research was carried out in Baghdad province from October 2021 to the end of March 2022. One hundred samples were collected from both sexes, ranging in age from (3-16) years. They all underwent examination for ADA, cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and total protein levels. Results showed no significant differences between E.vermicularis positive group and E.vermicularis negative group regarding ADA, LDL, and trig
