RECORD OF THE BARNACLE OCTOLASMIS ANGULATA (AURIVILLIUS, 1894) FROM THE GILLS OF THE CRAB PORTUNUS SEGNIS (FORSKÅL, 1775) OFF IRAQI MARINE WATERS
...Show More Authors

Ten blue swimming crabs Portunus segnis (Forskål, 1775) were collected from the north west of the Arabian Gulf off the Iraqi marine waters from October to November 2017 at 29ᵒ 37′ N to 48ᵒ 47′ E.

The barnacle Octolasmis angulata (Aurivillius, 1894) was found on the gills of the present species of crab, the mean incidence of infestation was 30%, while the mean Intensity of infestation was 12.3. The barnacle have a long and slim shaped calcareous plate with the presence of carina and the absence of tergum, in addition to the elongated shape of carina and scutum. The current study represents the first record of the barnacle O. angulata in the Arabian Gulf.

Influence of Immersion Period on the Corrosion Behavior of Heat Treated Biomedical Alloy Ti -5Al - 2.5Fe
...Show More Authors

Heat treatment by solid solution method in the ?+? phase region was used at 970°C for Ti-5Al-2.5Fe alloy. The specimens cooled under different cooling media [water quenched (WQ), air cooled (AC) and furnace cooled (FC)], and subsequently aged at 550°C for 4 hours. Five specimens from each treatment were immersed in simulated body fluid SBF for a period of time (3 months). The dependence of corrosion rate on compositional variation in the phases resulted from various type of cooling rates are discussed based on immersion tests. The EDXA results show the precipitation of phosphate and calcium compounds on the alloy after 3 months of immersion in blood plasma solution forming a bone-like apatite, which enhanced the alloy biocompatibility ma

Effect of Doping on Properties of the Hall Effect and Electrical Conductivity for AgInTe2 Thin Films
...Show More Authors

The effect of different doping ratio (0.3, 0.5, and 0.7) with thickness in the range 300nmand annealed at different temp.(Ta=RT, 473, 573, 673) K on the electrical conductivity and hall effect measurements of AgInTe2thin film have and been investigated AgAlxIn(1-x) Te2 (AAIT) at RT, using thermal evaporation technique all the films were prepared on glass substrates from the alloy of the compound. Electrical conductivity (σ), the activation energies (Ea1, Ea2), Hall mobility and the carrier concentration are investigated as a function of doping. All films consist of two types of transport mechanisms for free carriers. The activation energy (Ea) decreased whereas electrical conductivity increases with increased doping. Results of Hall Effect

The current research aims to know the effect of teaching using multiple intelligences theory on academic achievement for students of primary school. The sample search of pupils . The research sample was divided into two groups where the first group represented the experimental group which studied the use of multiple intelligences and the second group represented the control group which studied the use of the traditional way . The search tool consisted of achievement test. Showed search results, there are statistically significant differences(0.05) between the average scores of students who have studied according to multiple intelligences between the average scores of students who have studied in accordance with the tradition way in the p

The Spatial locating Impact of Commercial Malls Upon AdjacentSpatial locating Impact of Commercial Malls Upon Adjacent
...Show More Authors

The research aims to show the impact of the new modern malls on urban adjacent land uses; it handled concise study of the old markets, contemporary shopping malls, and the standards and regulations for commercial use. Sample study has been taken from new allocated malls in the city of Baghdad. The results of the sample analysis, and statistical analysis has proven hypothesis; that the locating of new malls impacted physical, social, and economic on urban adjacent, especially the exotic on urban fabric. It also turned out that the shopping demand from these malls is inelastic, which gives an opportunity to the planner and the decision-maker, to locate the modern new malls where spatial appropriate in the city are available. The major reco

Tetragonal compound CuAl0.4Ti0.6Se2 semiconductor has been prepared by
melting the elementary elements of high purity in evacuated quartz tube under low
pressure 10-2 mbar and temperature 1100 oC about 24 hr. Single crystal has been
growth from this compound using slowly cooled average between (1-2) C/hr , also
thin films have been prepared using thermal evaporation technique and vacuum 10-6
mbar at room temperature .The structural properties have been studied for the powder
of compound of CuAl0.4Ti0.6Se2u using X-ray diffraction (XRD) . The structure of the
compound showed chalcopyrite structure with unite cell of right tetragonal and
dimensions of a=11.1776 Ao ,c=5.5888 Ao .The structure of thin films showed

Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Energy Flow of a Two Stages Four Generators Adsorption Chiller
...Show More Authors

This work is concerned with a two stages four beds adsorption chiller utilizing activated carbon-methanol adsorption pair that operates on six separated processes. The four beds that act as thermal compressors are powered by a low grade thermal energy in the form of hot water at a temperature range of 65 to 83 °C.  As well as, the water pumps and control cycle consume insignificant electrical power. This adsorption chiller consists of three water cycles. The first water cycle is the driven hot water cycle. The second cycle is the cold water cycle to cool the carbon, which adsorbs the methanol. Finally, the chilled water cycle that is used to overcome the building load. The theoretical results showed that average cycle cooling power
