This study has been achieved to detect the bacterial contamination of red local
and imported meat (Saudi, Australian and Indian). 12 Kg of meat were bought from
six different places of Baghdad (Aldura, Almahmodia, ,Algehad, Alsader city,
Alkhademia, Albyiaa). Meat extraction samples were cultured in different diagnostic
and nutrient cultures to detect bacterial contamination which represented mainly of
Coliform, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella bacteria. The results of the

Seeds, beans, leaves, fruit peel and seeds of five plants (Ferula assa-foetida, Coffea robusta, Olea europaea, Punica granatum and Vitis vinifera, respectively) were extracted with four solvents (distilled water, 80% methanol, 80% acetone and a mixed solvent that included methanol, ethanol, acetone and n-butanol at proportions 7:1:1:1). Such manipulation yielded 20 extracts, which were phytochemically analyzed for total polyphenols (TP) and flavonoids (TF). Background Bloodstream infection (BSI) is a life-threatening condition caused by the presence of microorganisms, generally caused by a range of bacteria in the blood. Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible role of procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) as biomarkers of pediatric BSI. Methodology The study was conducted on 150 blood samples collected from the patient who admitted to Children Welfare Teaching Hospital, Medical City, Baghdad. During the period from November 2020 to March 2021, ninety blood samples from them were positive culture and 60 blood samples were negative culture (control group).
