10.28936 DESTRUCTION OF EXPIRED DRUGS TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY: DESTRUCTION OF EXPIRED DRUGS TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY
...Show More Authors

The method of incineration was chosen to treat the most commonly used antimicrobial agents in Iraq (Triclabendazol, Oxfendazol, Mebendazole), which are antibiotics for children. The moisture content and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were examined and the results were (93.34, 94.88, 92.97)%, (52000, 33200, and 64000) mg/ L. The temperature was determined as a variable in the burning process (600, 500, 400)° C for the purpose of calculating the loss of ignition LOI and determining the ideal temperature. The results of the models (Triclabendazol, Oxfendazol, Mebendazole) (94.92, 93.12, 58.81% and 88.87), (62.61, 44.08%, 98.75, 84.98 and 55.086)% respectively. When mixing the three models in equal proportions, the percentage of loss was 92.87%. The analysis of the active aggregates using FTIR device was determined. A diagram of each dryer model was determined before burning and re-examination at each degree after burning. It was observed that the peaks of the model fingerprint and the active aggregates were dissolved and the materials were fully decomposed to carbon at a temperature of 600°C.

Anticancer and immune effect of the extracted brown Raoultella planticola pigment on murine mammary adenocarcinoma (AMN3)
...Show More Authors

Background: Raoultella planticola is a developing pathogen that can infect both humans and animals. Raoultella spp. commonly colonize the gastrointestinal and upper respiratory systems. It usually causes pneumonia, bile tract infections, and bacteremia. Aim: In this study, the anticancer activity of an isolated brown pigment of a Raoultella planticola isolate was tested in vitro. Methods: The laboratory examination included culturing in brain-heart infusion broth, conducting biochemical tests, using the automatic VITEK2 Compact for bacterial isolate identification, performing the MTT assay to evaluate the cytotoxic effect on both the mammary cancer cell line (AMN3) and normal rat fibroblast (REF), and utilizing enzyme-linked i

Reducing Dependency on Core Data for Permeability Estimation Using Well Log-Derived Electrofacies and Flow Zone Indicators (FZI) in the Mishrif Formation, Nasiriyah Oil Field, South of Iraq
...Show More Authors

Accurate estimation of permeability is essential for reliable reservoir characterization and simulation. However, core data are often limited due to their high cost and operational constraints, leading to significant uncertainty in uncored intervals. This study aims to reduce the dependence on core data for permeability estimation by integrating electrofacies derived from well logs and flow zone indicator analysis in the Mishrif Formation, Nasiriyah oil field. Electrofacies were generated using dynamic clustering based on the log data from 13 wells. This led to the identification of five electrofacies units that represent intervals with similar log responses, formed by merging 75 electrofacies, where flow zone indicators analysis id

The new 4-[(7-chloro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole)azo]-4,5-diphenyl imidazole (L) have been synthesized and characterized by micro elemental and thermal analyses as well as 1H.NMR, FT-IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. (L) acts as a ligand coordinating with some metal ionsV(IV), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II). Structures of the new compounds were characterized by elemental and thermal analyses as well as FT-IR and UV-Vis Spectra. The magnetic properties and electrical conductivities of metal complexes were also determined. Study of the nature of the complexes formed in ethanol following the mole ratio method.. In-silico design, molecular docking, molecular dynamic simulations, Molecular mechanics with generalised Born and surface area solvation study, and pharmacokinetic prediction of novel diclofenac as anti-inflammatory compounds
...Show More Authors

The prostaglandins inside inflamed tissues are produced by cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), making it an important target for improving anti-inflammatory medications over a long period. Adverse effects have been related to the traditional usage of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for the treatment of inflammation, mainly centered around gastrointestinal (GI) complications. The current research involves the creation of a virtual library of innovative molecules showing similar drug properties via a structure-based drug design. A library that includes five novel derivatives of Diclofenac was designed. Subsequently, molecular docking through the Glide module and determining the binding free energy implementing the P

Polluted Water Sensor Based on Carbon Quantum Dots/Alq3 Using Drop Casting and Spin Coating Techniques
...Show More Authors

Water quality sensors have recently received a lot of attention due to their impact on human health. Due to their distinct features, environmental sensors are based on carbon quantum dots (CQDs). In this study, CQDs were prepared using the electro-chemical method, where the structural and optical properties were studied. These quantum dots were used in the environmental sensor application after mixing them with three different materials: CQDs, Alq3 polymer and CQDs and Alq3 solutions using two different methods: drop casting and spin coating, and depositing them on silicon. The sensitivity of the water pollutants was studied for each case of the prepared samples after measuring the change in resistance of the samples at a temperature of

Wastewater remediation using activated carbon derived from Alhagi plant
...Show More Authors

This work focuses on the use of biologically produced activated carbon for improving the physi-co-chemical properties of water samples obtained from the Tigris River. An eco-friendly and low-cost activated carbon was prepared from the Alhagi plant using potassium hydroxide (KOH) as an impregnation agent. The prepared activated carbon was characterised using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy to determine the functional groups that exist on the raw material (Alhagi plant) and Alhagi activated carbon (AAC). Scanning electron microscope–energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscope was also used to investigate the surface shape and the elements that compose the powder. Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area analysis was used to evaluate the spe

Vorwort:
