Pulmonary CT findings in Patients Recovered from COVID-19 Pneumonia
...Show More Authors

Background: The COVID-19 infection is a more recent pandemic disease all over the world and studying the pulmonary findings on survivors of this disease has lately commenced.

Objective: We aimed to estimate the cumulative percentage of whole radiological resolution after 3 months from recovery and to define the residual chest CT findings and exploring the relevant affecting factors.

Subjects and Methods: Patients who had been previously diagnosed with COVID-19 pneumonia confirmed by RT-PCR test and had radiological evidence of pulmonary involvement by Chest CT during the acute illness were included in the present study. The radiological data of chest CT scan of all patients were collected and analyzed after recovery (confirmed by negative RT- PCR) three months after their initial diagnosis of having COVID 19 pneumonia.

Results: A total of 40 patients who had a second CT scans were assessed; there were 27 (67.5%) male and 13 (32.5%) female, with a mean age of 40.3 years old. The collective percentage of whole radiological resolution was 65% (26 patients). Patients >40 years old showed a significantly lower cumulative percentage of complete radiological resolution than patients ≤40 years old at the 3 months follow-up. The predominant patterns of abnormalities observed at discharge were ground-glass opacity (GGO), fibrous stripe and reticular opacities.

Conclusion: Lung findings in COVID-19 pneumonia patients can be resolved completely during medium-term follow up with no sequelae. The older age and co-morbidities are the main significant risk factors for residual radiological findings of COVID-19 disease.

The Effect of Boot Camp Training Program on the Development of Special Strength and Some Biomechanical Indicators of the Triple Jump in Young Female Athletes
...Show More Authors

The qualitative concept of training experienced athletes is not limited to strength training alone, but extends to general physical conditioning and, ultimately, to special strength training during the specific phases of athletic preparation, depending on the type of sport practiced. Since athletic training should not follow a single, monotonous pattern, the researchers adopted modern Boot camp exercises to develop special strength and biomechanical variables for female triple jump athletes. The study aimed to design Boot camp exercises specifically to enhance special strength and certain biomechanical indicators in young female triple jump athletes, and to identify the impact of these exercises on their performance. The researchers

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of fungi Gigaspora margarita and Glomus desriticola in stimulating the resistance of the capsicum annuum L. towards the chromium and lead after 60 days, planting and using the pots in the glass house. The highest concentration of chromium and lead in the root was found in the presence of the mycorrhizal mixture (194.93, 150.40) μg / g, respectively, compared to the lowest concentration (90.69, 79.37) μg / g respectively, while the highest concentration of chromium and lead in the shoot was found in the presence of the mycorrhizal mixture (94.63, 79.33) μg / g respectively, compared with the lowest concentration in the control treatment (72.58, 60.70) μg / g respectively. The Impact of Unregulated Urban Sprawl on Public Services and Quality of Life in Baghdad: A Case Study of Al-Dora District Using Spatial Analysis
...Show More Authors

The rapid and uncontrolled expansion of urban sprawl in Baghdad, particularly after 2003, has significantly transformed the city's landscape. This expansion stems from socio-political instability, a lack of affordable housing, and inadequate urban planning frameworks. As informal settlements encroach on agricultural lands, the city's infrastructure—including water, sanitation, and transportation systems—faces mounting pressure. This situation presents critical challenges to the sustainability of Baghdad’s public services and the quality of life for its residents. This study aims to evaluate the impact of unregulated urban sprawl on Baghdad’s public services and infrastructure, focusing on how informal growth has undermined the city'
