Background: Hemorrhoids are one of the most
common surgical conditions .Conventional
haemorrhoidectomy was the traditional operation for
the treatment of hemorrhoids. Other modalities of
treatment had been used as an alternative operations
including CO2 laser haemorrhoidectomy.
Objectives: To determine the outcome of treatment
of hemorrhoids by using CO2 laser
haemorrhoidectomy and its advantages over
conventional surgery
Methods: This is a retrospective comparative
interventional study of 1024 case of third degree
haemorhoids selected out of 1300 case of
hemorrhoids of different degrees, admitted to
ALKINDY, ALYERMOUK teaching hospitals and
ABD ALMAGEED private hospital, from May 1998
to July 2002,they were treated by CO2 laser
haemorrhoidectomy and conventional surgery. They
are divided into 2 groups randomly, 512 cases treated
by CO2 laser (group A), 512 cases treated by
conventional surgery (group B). Both groups were
studied regarding operative time, hospital stay,
healing time, post operative complications and cost
effectiveness.
Results: In GROUP A, the operative time ranged
from 10 to 20 minutes with an average of 13 minutes.
The hospital stay ranged from 4 to 12 hours with a
mean time of 10 hours as all cases were treated as
day cases. Post operative pain was minimal in 50% of
patients and required simple analgesia for treatment
while 50% had no pain. Bleeding occurred in less
than 1% of cases, anal stenosis 3.3%, Infection
recorded in 0.58% of patients. In GROUP B, The
operative time ranged from 15 to 25 minutes with an
average time of (19) minutes, hospital stay ranged
from 24 to 48 hours with a mean time of 28 hours
.Post operative pain recorded in all the patients
(100%) and required narcotic analgesia for treatment,
25 patients (4.8%) had varying degrees of bleeding,
40 patients (7.8%) had infection, 25 patients (4.8%)
had anal stenosis. In group A due to shorter hospital
stay, earlier healing of wounds, earlier return to work
which was within 7 to 10 days, the surgical treatment
proved to be cost effective
Background: The vertical distance between the upper and lower incisal edge of the central incisors when the mouth is opened as wide as possible is called maximum mouth opening (MMO). Any pathological change in the masticatory system had a direct effect on the maximal mouth opening. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the maximum bite force and the maximum mouth opening among group of children. Materials and methods: Four hundred children of both genders were included in this study, their age ranged from eight to ten years. Anterior and posterior (right, left) bite force were measured using bite force sensor. Maximum mouth opening was evaluated by electronic digital caliper. Data was statistically analyzed by de

Show MoreIn this paper, we calculate and measure the SNR theoretically and experimental for digital full duplex optical communication systems for different ranges in free space, the system consists of transmitter and receiver in each side. The semiconductor laser (pointer) was used as a carrier wave in free space with the specification is 5mW power and 650nm wavelength. The type of optical detector was used a PIN with area 1mm2 and responsively 0.4A/W for this wavelength. The results show a high quality optical communication system for different range from (300-1300)m with different bit rat (60-140)kbit/sec is achieved with best values of the signal to noise ratio (SNR).
Hypothyroidism is a condition in which thyroid hormones levels decreased in the blood. These hormones are necessary for energy production and body viability. In many occasions this condition is accompanied or followed by different metabolic disorders. The current study is conducted in the "Specialized center for endocrinology and diabetes" and carried on 70 hypothyroid patients and 60 randomly chosen individuals with normal thyroid function .Both groups were submitted to laboratory tests to evaluate thyroid function (T3,T4.TSH). The study involved evaluation of the relationship between hypothyroidism and insulin resistance (IR) . Health problem related to many diseases , became common lately. Insulin resistance diagnosed through

The research problem focused on psychological expenditure as one of the problems and challenges faced by specialized players and its negative impact, such as poor skill performance, which is reflected in the performance of the player and the team. This weakens the player's self-confidence and concentration and affects the team's performance in tournaments as well as their performance in training. The research aims to develop a psychological expenditure scale, and the researcher used the descriptive approach as it is appropriate for the nature of the research problem. The f

Learners can work in pairs or groups to practice dialogues chosen by the teacher from their textbook materials or from additional resources. Nowadays, because of Corona virus infection, our college students are taught all the subjects including conversation course either via google classroom platform or any other platforms. Google meet is one of online meetings between the teacher and students, i.e., a video meet in which students and the teacher join the online meetings in a specified time to communicate, express their ideas, thoughts and feelings about what is mentioned above.
