Background: Hemorrhoids are one of the most
common surgical conditions .Conventional
haemorrhoidectomy was the traditional operation for
the treatment of hemorrhoids. Other modalities of
treatment had been used as an alternative operations
including CO2 laser haemorrhoidectomy.
Objectives: To determine the outcome of treatment
of hemorrhoids by using CO2 laser
haemorrhoidectomy and its advantages over
conventional surgery
Methods: This is a retrospective comparative
interventional study of 1024 case of third degree
haemorhoids selected out of 1300 case of
hemorrhoids of different degrees, admitted to
ALKINDY, ALYERMOUK teaching hospitals and
ABD ALMAGEED private hospital, from May 1998
to July 2002,they were treated by CO2 laser
haemorrhoidectomy and conventional surgery. They
are divided into 2 groups randomly, 512 cases treated
by CO2 laser (group A), 512 cases treated by
conventional surgery (group B). Both groups were
studied regarding operative time, hospital stay,
healing time, post operative complications and cost
effectiveness.
Results: In GROUP A, the operative time ranged
from 10 to 20 minutes with an average of 13 minutes.
The hospital stay ranged from 4 to 12 hours with a
mean time of 10 hours as all cases were treated as
day cases. Post operative pain was minimal in 50% of
patients and required simple analgesia for treatment
while 50% had no pain. Bleeding occurred in less
than 1% of cases, anal stenosis 3.3%, Infection
recorded in 0.58% of patients. In GROUP B, The
operative time ranged from 15 to 25 minutes with an
average time of (19) minutes, hospital stay ranged
from 24 to 48 hours with a mean time of 28 hours
.Post operative pain recorded in all the patients
(100%) and required narcotic analgesia for treatment,
25 patients (4.8%) had varying degrees of bleeding,
40 patients (7.8%) had infection, 25 patients (4.8%)
had anal stenosis. In group A due to shorter hospital
stay, earlier healing of wounds, earlier return to work
which was within 7 to 10 days, the surgical treatment
proved to be cost effective

colonic surgery usually includes antibiotic
therapy together with mechanical bowel
preparation which may cause discomfort to the
patients, prolonged hospitalization and water
& electrolyte imbalance.
Objective: to assess whether elective colon
and rectal surgery may be safely performed
without preoperative mechanical bowel
preparation.
Method: the study includes all patients who
had elective large bowel resection at Medical
City – Baghdad Teaching Hospital between
Feb, 2007 to Jan, 2010. Emergency operations
were not included. The patients were randomly
assigned to the 2 study groups (with or without
mechanical bowel preparation.

Buzurgan oil field suffers from the phenomenon of asphaltene precipitation. The serious negatives of this phenomenon are the decrease in production caused by clogging of the pores and decrease in permeability and wettability of the reservoir rocks, in addition to the blockages that occur in the pipeline transporting crude oil. The presence of laboratories in the Iraqi oil companies helped to conduct the necessary experiments, such as gas chromatography (GC) test to identify the components of crude oil and the percentages of each component, These laboratory results consider the main elements in deriving a new equation called modified colloidal instability index (MCII) equation based on a well-known global equation called colloidal in

The aim of this investigation is to study the change in ductility of structural concrete flexural members during their exposure to limited cycles of repeated loading. Twenty full-scale beam specimens have been fabricated in to two identical groups; each group consisted of ten specimens. The first group was tested under monotonic static loading to failure and regarded as control beams, while the specimens of the second group were subjected to ten cycles of repeated loading with constant load interval, which ranged between 40% and 60% of ultimate load. Show More In this paper the research represents an attempt of expansion in using the parametric and non-parametric estimators to estimate the median effective dose ( ED50 ) in the quintal bioassay and comparing between these methods . We have Chosen three estimators for Comparison. The first estimator is
( Spearman-Karber ) and the second estimator is ( Moving Average ) and The Third estimator is ( Extreme Effective Dose ) . We used a minimize Chi-square as a parametric method. We made a Comparison for these estimators by calculating the mean square error of (ED50) for each one of them and comparing it with the optimal the mean square
In this paper, a compression system with high synthetic architect is introduced, it is based on wavelet transform, polynomial representation and quadtree coding. The bio-orthogonal (tap 9/7) wavelet transform is used to decompose the image signal, and 2D polynomial representation is utilized to prune the existing high scale variation of image signal. Quantization with quadtree coding are followed by shift coding are applied to compress the detail band and the residue part of approximation subband. The test results indicate that the introduced system is simple and fast and it leads to better compression gain in comparison with the case of using first order polynomial approximation.

The higher education has become an enterprise integrate system that described as knowledge society, the essential part in its electronic and virtual format in the shadow of globalization challenges with its various dimensions . Until the logical ryles aboat a strategic partnership between the Iraqi higher education establishments and their international equivalent ones Strategic windows should be invested for the purpose of enhancing the quality of higher education in a sustainable way. This forms a challenge before the international education leaders on the social, operational and establishment's level to determinte knowledge gap, observing, diagnosing and processing in the present and future, e
