Background: It has been accepted that in patients with CSOM, conductive deafness results from mechanical break-down of sound conduction ,whilist the cochlea remains unaffected.
Objectives: Our study aims to prove a sensorineural component in hearing loss in patients suffering from CSOM , which necissates early detection as it increases in severity with time.
Methods: A prospective study was done on 64 patients, all were diagnosed as having unilateral CSOM, their ages ranged from 18-40 years to exclude presbyacusis as a cause of sensorineural deafness.
These patients were divided into 4 groups according to the duration of discharge and further divided into 3 groups according to the pathology (simple perforation, granulation tissue or cholesteatoma).
Results: 62 patients showed some degree of sensorineural deafness in the affected ear accounting for 96.8% of the total number of patients,
While only 2 patients escaped the phenomenon. Worsening of bone conduction thresholds was noticed with increased duration of the disease.
The highest loss was in patients with severe pathology (cholesteatoma) and least in those with simple perforation.
Conclusion: This study indicates that the degree of sensorineural hearing loss in patients with CSOM relates with the duration and complications of the disease which is contrary to the traditionally accepted belief of the physicians that cochlea remains unaffected in CSOM.

This study included the isolation and identification of Aspergillus flavus isolates associated with imported American rice grains and local corn grains which collected from local markets, using UV light with 365 nm wave length and different media (PDA, YEA, COA, and CDA ). In this work, enhancement to the fluorescence characteristics of laser dye solutions hosting highly-pure titanium dioxide nanoparticles as random gain media. This was achieved by coating two opposite sides of the cells containing these media with nanostructured thin films of highly-pure titanium dioxide. Two laser dyes; Rhodamine B and Coumarin 102, were used to prepare solutions in hexanol and methanol, respectively, as hosts for the nanoparticles. Potentiostatic polarization and weight loss methods have been used to investigate the corrosion behavior of carbon steel in sodium chloride solution at different concentrations (0.1, 0.4 and 0.6) M under the influence of temperatures ( 293, 298, 303, 308 and 313) K. The inhibition efficiency of the amoxicillin drug on carbon steel in 0.6 M NaCl has also been studied based on concentration and temperature. The corrosion rate showed that all salt concentrations ( NaCl solution) resulted in corrosion of carbon steel in varying ratio and 0.6 M of salt solution was the highest rate (50.46 g/m².d). The paper include study the effect thickness of the polymeric sample which is manufactured by thermo press way. The sample was used as an active tunable R6G laser media. The remarks show that, when the thickness of the samples is increased, with the same concentration, the spectrum will shift towards the short wavelength, & the quantum fluorescence yield will increased. The best result we obtained for the quantum fluorescence yield is (0.68) at the sample, with thickness (0.304mm) in Ethanol solvent, while when we used the Pure Water as a solvent, we found that the best quantum fluorescence yield is (0.63) at (0.18mm) thickness of the sample.
