Background: Fetal macrosomia represent a
continuing challenge in obstetrics and increasing in
it's occurrence as well as it is associated with maternal
and perinatal complications.
Objective : To determine the maternal and perinatal
outcome related to fetal macrosomia.
Design: A prospective case control study.
Patients and methods) :10th March-31st May, 2006
A prospective case control study had done over the
period from 10th March to 31st May, 2006 in Al-Batool
maternity teaching hospital in Mosul city .The study
group consisted from 633 singleton alive newborns
with gestational age ≥37weeks weighing 4000 grams
and heavier and mothers of these newborns compared
with control group which consisted from 4155
singleton alive newborn with gestational age
≥37weeks weighing 2500-3999 grams and mothers of
these newborns .The obstetrical outcome variables
which compared between the two groups include mode
of delivery, indication of caesarean section and
maternal and perinatal complications.
Results :
Macrosomic newborns (≥4000grams) delivered in this
study account for (12.45%) of total deliveries.
Newborns with a birth weight of ≥4500grams
constitute 2.65% from all deliveries .Male Newborns
(65.24%) was higher and statistically differed among
the study group (p value=0.001).
Instrumental vaginal delivery (P value=0.010,Odd
ratio :2.12, 95 %CI :1.19-3.76) and cesarean section
delivery (P value=0.000,Odd ratio:1.63, 95 %CI :
1.34-1.98), mainly the emergency cesarean section
(18.79%), were significantly different among the
study group .Failure of progress of labour and
cephalopelvic disproportion were the main indications
in study group and showed statistical significant
difference between the two groups.
Among the study group, there was neither maternal
death nor uterine rupture but there was higher
occurrence of postpartum hemorrhage, genital tract
trauma and shoulder dystocia which were significantly
different when it compared with control group .Erb's
palsy was the main perinatal complication and was
statistically different among macrosomic group (P
value=0.000) .
Conclusion: Fetal macrosomia was associated with
higher rate of instrumental vaginal delivery and
caesarean section mainly due to failure of progress of
labour and cephalopelvic disproportion .There were
higher rate of postpartum haemorrhage, genital tract
trauma as well as shoulder dystocia with neither
maternal death nor uterine rupture in study group .
Among macrosomic newborn, Erb's pulsy was the
main perinatal complication
The development of new building materials, able of absorbing more energy is an active research area. Engineering Cementitious Composite (ECC) is a class of super-elastic fiberreinforced cement composites characterized by high ductility and tight crack width control. The use of bendable concrete produced from Portland Limestone Cement (PLC) may lead to an interest in new concrete mixes. Impact results of bendable concrete reinforced with steel mesh and polymer fibers will provide data for the use of this concrete in areas subject to impact loading. The experimental part consisted of compressive strength and impact resistance tests along with a result comparison with unreinforced concrete. Concrete samples, with dimensions of 100×

The molecular structures of these compounds were performed by elemental analysis and FTIR, 1HNMR spectroscopy. The liquid crystalline properties were examined by hot stage optical polarizing microscopy (OPM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). All compouns of the two series display liquid crystalline nematic mesophase. The liquid crystalline behaviour has been analyzed in terms of structural property relationship
This paper reports experimental and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling studies to investigate the effect of the swirl intensity on the heat transfer characteristics of conventional and swirl impingement air jets at a constant nozzle-to-plate distance ( L = 2 D). The experiments were performed using classical twisted tape inserts in a nozzle jet with three twist ratios ( y = 2.93, 3.91, and 4.89) and Reynolds numbers that varied from 4000 to 16000. The results indicate that the radial uniformity of Nusselt number (Nu) of swirl impingement air jets (SIJ) depended on the values of the swirl intensity and the air Reynolds number. The results also revealed that the SIJ that was fitted with an insert of y = 4.89, which correspo

As for the research tools, the researcher used the questionnaire as a data collection tool in addition to an analytical description of the means and methods of communication for public relations on Baghdad Municipality Facebook page.
The research comes out with a set of result; the most important of which are:
The means through which citizens learned about the existence of campaigns to impose the law an eliminate violati

BACKGROUND: The number of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) positive patients and fatalities keeps rising. It is important to recognize risk factors for severe outcomes. Evidence linking vitamin D deficiency and the severity of COVID-19 is tangential but substantial – relating to race, obesity, and institutionalization. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to examine the function of vitamin D and nutritional defense against infections such as COVID-19, which is the goal of this research. METHODS: This study includes observational cohort, cross-sectional, and case-control studies that estimated variances in serum levels of vitamin D among patients with mild or severe forms of COVID-19, and in patients who died or were discharged from hospit

The bioequivalence of a single dose tablet containing 5 mg amlodipine as a test product in comparison to Norvasc® 5 mg tablet (Pfizer USA) as the reference product was studied. Both products were administered to twenty eight healthy male adult subjects applying a fasting, single-dose, two-treatment, two-period, two-sequence, randomized crossover design with two weeks washout period between dosing. Twenty blood samples were withdrawn from each subject over 144 hours period. Amlodipine concentrations were determined in plasma by a validated HPLC-MS/MS method. From the plasma concentration-time data of each individual, the pharmacokinetic parameters; Cmax, Tmax, AUC0-t, AUC0-
