BackgroundCarcinoma of the larynx represent 10% of head & neck malignancies. The treatment of advanced carcinoma of larynx may include partial or total laryngectomy, with or without laser , radiotherapy, and or chemotherapy . Carcinoma of the larynx usually affect old age , heavy smoker with possible risk of pulmonary diseases & ischemic heart disease , which add risk to the general anaesthetic complication operative & postoperative - Objectives this study was designed to assess the feasibility of total laryngectomy under local anaesthesia in medically unfit patients for general anaesthesia & to re-establish practice doing total laryngectomy under local anaesthesia in those patients.
Methods a prospective study on 12 patients who underwent total laryngectomy under local anaesthesia in the otolaryngology department at Al-Jirahat hospital over a period from September 2007 to the end of July 2010.
Results all patients tolerated the surgical procedure under local anaesthesia without disturbing the general condition of the patient, or the technique of surgery , with good postoperative recovery & early mobility of patient .
Conclusion total laryngectomy can be done under local anaesthesia in case the patient is medically not fit for general anaesthesia , & in some other selected cases .
Objective: The study aimed to determine quality of life domains for adult patients with limbs loss and to identify
the association between quality of life domains and demographic characteristics and medical information.
Methodology: A descriptive study was carried out at Baghdad artificial limb center, Al-Salam medical
rehabilitation center, Al-Ghadeer medical rehabilitation center and the rheumatoid and medical rehabilitation
center for the period from September 2007 to April 2008. A purposive ''non- probability'' sample of (200)
patients with limbs loss. Questionnaire form was constructed for the purpose of the study. Data were collected
through the application of the questionnaire and interview technique. Data were a
The historical centers represent the present of the past, which is embodied in its buildings and spaces, which are places of continuous life bearing the history of the city with all its material and objective dimensions, making it living centers that form an essential part of the body of the city and give it a vision for another time and it represents a cultural heritage that should be preserved and maintained. The synthesis oxadiazole derivative 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4oxadiazole (3a,3b,3c) was prepared from reaction of N-(4-amino benzene sulphonyl)Morpholipebut-2-enehydrazide with (4-hydroxybenzaldehyde,4-methoxy benzaldehyde,4-ethoxybenzaldehyde) in the presence of lone as catalyst. The structure of (3a,3b,3c) was characterized by using FT-IR, H-NMR and spectroscopy. Nanoparticles of the prepared compounds have been fabricated in aqueous media using re-precipitation method.Characterization of the nano particles (ONPs) have been performed by using UV-VIS spectrophotometer and scanning electron micro scope ( SEM). The size of the nanoparticales were around 150-200 nm as indicated by (SEM). T
The study aimed to survey mushroom species from fields among herbs, palm trunks, and trees in central Iraq and to identify them on the basis of morphological and molecular characteristics. As a molecular identification result with polymerase chain reaction six species were recorded (with eight isolates): Agaricus bitorquis (Quéllt) Saccardo. 1887 (SHA14); Candolleomyces candolleanus (Fr.) D. Wächter & Melzer, 2020 (SHA15); Cyclocybe cylindracea (D.C.) Vizzini & Angelini, 2014 (SHA13); Leucoagaricus hesperius Vellinga, 2010 (SHA16); Volvariella sp. (SHA17), and Volvopluteus gloiocephalus (D. C.) Vizzini, Contu & Justo, 2011 (SHA10, SHA101 and SHA12), belonging to four families of Basidiomycetes: Agaricaceae, Pluteaceae,

Despite that cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the main cause of death in women worldwide and that the existent evidence that women with CVD differs from men with the same diseases from many views including pathophysiological to therapeutic. Yet, there is an unmet need for registries focused on sex differences in CVD, as the first step toward patient-centered trials, guidelines, and protocols. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no prior registry focusing exclusively on CVD in women with sex-focused research questions and methodology thus far.
