Background; Perforated duodenal ulcer (PDU) is a common surgical emergency that is associated with high mortality and morbidity. Early diagnosis and prompt surgical treatment is required to prevent grave complications.
Objective; The study was designed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of different radiological investigations in the diagnosis of perforated duodenal ulcer.
Methods; A prospective study of 185 pts with PDU at al kindy teaching hospital, Baghdad, Iraq from June 2008- august 2010. patients were examined clinically and investigated by blood test, chest x ray, plain X ray of the abdomen. Ultrasonography (U/S) and CT scanning done for those patients with negative X- ray finding. Resuscitation by intravenous fluid and antibiotic done. Explorative laparotomy done for all patients, repair of perforation done by simple omental patch. Data regarding radiological, ultrasonographic and CT finding and operative finding were recorded.
Results: The study of 185 pts with proven perforated DU revealed 162 (87.5%) male and 23 (12.5%) female with age ranging from 22-70 yrs ,the average was 38 years.
Crescentic shape air under diaphragm was seen in chest or abdominal plain X ray in 121 (65.4%) pts and negative in 64 (34.6%) pts. For those 64 pts, a positive finding of free air or fluid was seen by U/S in 16 (25%) pts and positive CT finding was seen in 62 (96.9%) pts.
The operative finding in those 64 pts were; a small perforation less than 0.5 cm in 24 pts, completely or partially sealed perforation in 19 pts, severe edema and narrowing of the pylorus in 15 pts and perforation larger than 1 cm but with little peritoneal soiling was seen in 6 pts.
Conclusions: Pneumoperitonium was detected radiologically in 65% of pts of perforated DU. CT scan was found to be superior to U/S study for the diagnosis in pts with negative X-ray finding. For pts with perforated DU Conservative treatmentcan be adopted in pts with negative radiological findings.
Scientific development has occupied a prominent place in the field of diagnosis, far from traditional procedures. Scientific progress and the development of cities have imposed diseases that have spread due to this development, perhaps the most prominent of which is diabetes for accurate diagnosis without examining blood samples and using image analysis by comparing two images of the affected person for no less than a period. Less than ten years ago they used artificial intelligence programs to analyze and prove the validity of this study by collecting samples of infected people and healthy people using one of the Python program libraries, which is (Open-CV) specialized in measuring changes to the human face, through which we can infer the

In conventional content analysis, 10 nursing managers at different levels including head nurse, supervisor, and nursing manager were interviewed. Data was collected with semi-structured interviews and a narrative approach. Data analysis was performed using the Zhang–Wildemuth method simultaneously with sampling.
In the present study the radon concentration was measured in indoor places by the RAD7 (radon detector) was in some locations at Al-Tuwaitha nuclear site and some surrounding areas for the duration from 13/10/2016 to 2/1/2017 and the measurement of the indoor radon concentration ranged from (4.96±4.4 to 102±25) Bq/m3. The high value of radon has been found at decommissioning directorate /emergency room, which is lower than the action value recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which is (148 Bq/m3) while the lowest value has been founded in central laboratories directorate \ models room. These values were used to calculate the annual effective dose and the health risks for cells bronchial which caused by the inhalatio

There are several popular methods for detection of H. pylori (invasive and non-invasive methods) each having its own advantages, disadvantages, and limitations, and by using PCR technique the ability to detect H. pylori in saliva samples offers a potential for an alternative test for detection of this microorganism. Materials and methods: The study sample consists of fifty participants of both genders, who undergo Oesophageo-gastrodudenoscopy at the Gastroenterology Department of Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital Baghdad/ Iraq, during five months period from January 2014 to May 2014. However, existing proposed models indicate that there is still room for improvement regarding the frequency bands of absorption for the double-layer MPP. This study presents a double-layer MPP formed with two single MPPs with inhomogeneous perforation backed by multiple cavities of varying depths. The theoretical formulation is developed using the electrical equivalent circuit method to calculate the absorption coefficient under a normal incident sound. The simulation results show that the proposed model can produce absorption coefficient with wider absorption bandwidth compared w

The study area represents an agricultural area north of the capital Baghdad - Iraq, as it was captured by the Landsat 8 satellite on 12 January 2021, where the bands of the OLI sensor were used. A field visit was made to a variety of classes that represent the landcover of the study area and the geographical location of these classes was recorded. Gaussian, Kurtosis, and LogCosh kernels were used to perform the ICA transform of the OLI Landsat 8 image. Different training sets were made for each of the ICA and Landsat 8 images separately that used in the classification phase, and used to calcula
