International Journal on Technical and Physical Problems of Engineering

This investigation was conducted to examine some physical and chemical properties of sand dunes collected from Basrah (1 '2 and 3) 'Nassiriya (4 and 5) and Amara (6) provinces that situated in lower Mesopotamia plain.

The results indicate clearly that the dominant particles in the samples were sand that were ranging from (81) % to (97) %, however the aggregated size of (0.1 - 0.25) mm were predominates in the investigated sand dunes of the region . Also the study shows that the content of the organic matter and potassium ions were very low (0.1- 0.4% '0.02 -0.22 meq I 100 gm soil. A comparison was conducted between two wells, Kt-1and Kt-2, in Kumait and two wells, Du-1and Du-2, in Dujaila oil fields that belong to Mishrif formation, southern Iraq.  Seismic inversion method was employed to detect oil and water reservoirs. The comparison included the behavior of acoustic impedance (AI) of fluids and the lithology with related petrophysical properties. The values of water saturation, Shale volume (Vsh), and effective porosity were compared between the AI,  two fluid reservoirs. Thirty one  samples of gum swabs were collected from patients with tooth caries (5-30 years old)  from the College of Science (Biology department )- University of Baghdad- Iraq for the period from October 2018 to December 2018. , The samples were transported, after inoculation in a transport media (nutrient broth), to the laboratory of the College of Science and then cultured on mannitol salt agar and  blood agar). The isolates belonging to Staphylococcus spp. were identified by biochemical tests and Vitek 2 compact system, while the more antibiotic resistant isolates were identified by using Polymerase Chain Reaction(ï´¾PCR)  and sequencing of 16SrRNA .
