Objective: Detection the presumptive prevalence of silent celiac disease in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus with determination of which gender more likely to be affected.
Methods: One hundred twenty asymptomatic patients [75 male , 45 female] with type 1 diabetes mellitus with mean age ± SD of 11.25 ± 2.85 year where included in the study . All subjects were serologically screened for the presence of anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA antibodies (anti-tTG antibodies) by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) & total IgA was also measured for all using radial immunodiffusion plate . Anti-tissue transglutaminase IgG was selectively done for patients who were expressing negative anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA with low total IgA levels & results were compared to that obtained from healthy 60 persons with mean age ± SD for them was 15.25 ± 3.85 year . Results : Fourteen out of one hundred twenty (11.66 % ) diabetic patients had expressed positivity to anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA compared to 1/60 ( 1.66 %) of non diabetic patients who had expressed such positivity , P value equals to 0.0221 & it is considered to be statistically significant. Three out of one hundred twenty (2.5 % ) diabetic patients had expressed total IgA deficiency whereas all of non diabetic patients were expressing total IgA within the normal range , P value equals to 0.55 & it is considered to be not statistically significant. All of three diabetic patients with total IgA deficiency were not showing positivity to anti-tissue transglutaminase IgG . Six mals & Eight female of those with type 1 diabetes mellitus had expressed positivity to anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA , P value equals to 0.1426 & it is considered to be not statistically significant .
Conclusion : There is an increased prevalence of IgA antitissue transglutaminase antibodies ( 11.66 % ) in children & adolescent with type 1 diabetes mellitus in comparison with control group.

Show MoreBlood samples of One hundred and twenty patients from different hospitals in Baghdad infected with hydatidosis in different sites of the body (Liver, Lung, multiorgans and kidney) were collected for this study. On the other hand, 30 healthy individuals were included as a control group. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of this disease on the serum protein profile of the patients using electrophoresis. The results revealed four different protein banding patterns with difference in number of bands and their molecular weights in comparison to the control group, and these differences depended on the site of infection. Dried imported blood worms Chironomus reparius was used to motivate the growth of young carp Cyprinus carpio L ., as fish powder was partial and total replaced by blood worms which is a component of the fodder of the common carp fish. Results have shown that blood worm partial replacement treatment surpasses the imported fish powder. Rates of growth motivation of this treatment have been higher than both the control and total replacement processes. Results have shown significant differences in the weight of the fish in the partial replacement of the fish powder by the blood worms.

The faujasite type Y zeolite catalyst was prepared from locally available kaolin. For prepared faujasite type NaY zeolite X-ray, FT-IR, BET pore volume and surface area, and silica/ alumina were determined. The Xray and FT-IR show the compatibility of prepared catalyst with the general structure of standard zeolite Y. BET test shows that the surface area and pore volume of prepared catalyst were 360 m2 /g and 0.39 cm3 /g respectively.
The prepared faujasite type NaY zeolite modified by exchanging sodium ion with ammonium ion using ammonium nitrate and then ammonium ion converted to hydrogen ion.
