Introduction: The association between acute stroke and
renal function is well known. The aim of this study is to
know which group of patients with acute stroke is more
likely to have undiagnosed Chronic Kidney Disease and
which risk factors are more likely to be associated with.
Methods:We studied 77 patients who were diagnosed to
have an acute stroke.Patients were selected between
April2011andJune 2011 using the " 4-variable
Modification of
Diet in Renal Disease Formula " which estimates
Glomerular Filtration Rate using four variables :serum
creatinine ,age ,race and gender.
Results :The study included 38 male and 39 females
patients ,aged (35-95) years. Glomerular Filtration Rate in
patients with acute stroke was calculated and showed
37.6% , 28.5% , 25.6% , 6.4% and 2.5% (Chronic Kidney
Disease stage 0, 1,2,3,4,5 respectively.)
Conclusion :One Third of patients with acute stroke had
Glomerular Filtration Rate less than 60ml/min per 1.73m²
patients who had more than 2 risk factors of Chronic
Kidney Disease are about 3 times more likely to have
Glomerular Filtration Rate less than 60 ml/min per
1.73m² to those with 2 or less risk factors
I mpact strength for Epoxy/Polyurethane, Blends and their composites with two
layers of Glass fibers (0-90) are calculated.
The impact strength of the blends and composites decrease with increasing weight
by weisht percentage of polyurethane . This result is attributed to the high elasticity
of PU , and to the immiscibility between the polymer blends as well as the fiber

This study was carried out to evaluate parasitological and immunological of the effect of chitosan and chitosannanoparticles loaded with spiramycin on toxoplasmosis infected mice. After injection intra peritoneal with 103viable tachyzoites for acute infection, treatments given for seven days. Peritoneal fluid examination revealed a significant decrease in the number of Toxoplasmagondiitachyzoites in all treated infected mice compared with infected non-treated. The combined therapy gave better results than single. The best effect was observed in group of mice treated with spiramycin combined with chitosan nanoparticles. The analytical model used through this work is for a bearing with isotropic permeability. Background: The objective of this study was to investigate the possibility of standardizing the Bolton ratio analysis as a diagnostic measure for both Iraqi and Egyptian orthodontic populations within three Angle' classification groups. Materials and methods: Two hundred forty pretreatment study casts (one hundred twenty of each population) were included in this study and divided into three Angle' classification groups. The mesiodistal crown diameters of all teeth were measured for computing the anterior and total Bolton ratios. Analysis of variance was performed to compare the mean ratios of Bolton analysis as a function of the Angle classification.HSD test was used to specify the classes of malocclusion that have significant differences.
