Background: A basic knowledge and understanding
of first aid can be invaluable for individuals to be
able to provide emergency care in the event of an
accident, possibly saving lives and minimizing
injury. Since injury is the fifth leading cause of death
and children at the age of primary school are liable
for accidents and lack of knowledge and good
judgment of their teachers may lead to dangerous
consequences when emergencies occur. Training
teachers how to deal with accidents is of obvious
importance.
Objectives: To estimate the adequacy of primary
school teachers’ knowledge of first aid concerning
external bleeding and fractures and Whether there's a
difference in knowledge in regard to years spent in
teaching or the teaching subject and to decide
whether primary school teachers need training or not.
Methods: This study is a cross-sectional Study was
done over 5 months (from 01/Dec/2010 to 01/May/
2011) in five randomly chosen primary schools in
different regions in Baghdad/ Al-Rusafa,carried out
on 100 primary school teachers without inclusion or
exclusion criteria.
Statistical analysis: Chi-Square was calculated by
MiniTab Program to estimate significance. The
significance level was set at P<0.05.
Results: Of the 100 participants, 4% had good
knowledge, 19% had fair knowledge and 77% had
poor knowledge, 26% were science teachers, 9%
were social studies teachers, 43% were literature
teachers and 22% were sport/art teachers. No
significant difference was found for their knowledge
(p value=0.41).Also participants were classified
according to the years they spent in teaching. No
significance was found for their knowledge (p
value=0.82).
Conclusions: Primary school teachers' knowledge of
first aid concerning external bleeding and fractures is
poor and certainly inadequate. No difference was
found in regard to how many years spent in teaching
and difference in teaching subjects also has no effect
on their knowledge.
Objective: To evaluate the knowledge and practices of nursing staff at the orthopedic wards relative to
nursing care presented to patients with femur fractures.
MethodologyThe sample consisted of (50) staff nurses was selected out of orthopedic wards of five
teaching hospital in Baghdad city for duration 15th Nivember 2001-15th of January 2002.
For the purpose of data collection, two instruments were constructed. First, observational
checklist for the practices measurements and second, knowledge test for the evaluation of the nurse
knowledge. Such construction was employed through literature review and validity expert’s responses.
Data were analyzed through the application of descriptive data analysis (frequency, p
Traction force and power requirement when performing primary tillage occupy the minds of almost farmers, this field research had aim to determine and calculate the pulling force of the most commonly used moldboard and chisel plows, the research conducted in silt clay loam for chisel and moldboard plows as the main factor, two depths of tillage 18 and 25 cm as a second factor and three speeds of tractor 2.55, 4.30 and 6.15 km.h-1 as a third factor. Moldboard plow recorded least traction force 7.550 kN, drawbar power 11.583 hp, power losses due to slippage 1.088 hp, power on the rear axle of the tractor 15.770 hp and brake horse power 17.495 hp. Chisel plow recorded best traction efficiency 76.217 % and total traction efficiency 68.659 %. Dep

This paper describes the synthesis of primary amide derivatives (compounds 6 and 7) that have the requirements to be histone deacetylase inhibitors of the zinc-binding type. Both of them exhibited good cytotoxicity against the tested cancer cell lines with much lower cytotoxicity against normal cell line.
The research aims to characterize the strategic plan of the Educational Professional Development Center, to reveal the most important training needs for teachers from this center, to reveal the extent to which this center meets those needs, and to identify the differences between teacher responses about the degree of importance, availability of those needs according to variables of sex, specialization, and years of experience. This descriptive study adopted a questionnaire applied to (256) teachers in the K.S.A. The results of the study showed that all training needs ranged in the degree of importance from large to very large and that the most important were the skills associated with communicating with members of the learning community.

Particularly, the study explored teachers’ knowledge of RtI, teachers’ perceptions of RtI their intervention/instruction in school, and teachers’ suggestions of RtI implementation in their school. The study design was a qualitative interview in nature and data were collected from face-to-face interviews with four teachers in one school. The findings revealed that RtI means to identify students’ problems; the positive teachers’ perceptions of their implementation included: (a) students who demonstrate progress through RtI are those who receive private education services, (b) progress monito

The role of the independent variable and human resources capabilities was the role of the adopted variable. The aim of the research is to identify the level of participation in the knowledge of the organization through human resources and the rigorous scientific investigation to develop new mechanisms of action that help To manage the organization in the implementation of its mission and achieve its main objectives that have been found for it is to encourage the work of scientific research and maintain the preservation of its continuity to increase the competencies of knowledge, technical and skill to form a future workforce qualified to work In the sectors of society.
The aim of this research is to uncover the science processes included in the teacher’s guide to scientific experiments for science books for grades (first-second) for the intermediate stage, The research sample included all the scientific experiments contained in the teacher’s guide for scientific experiments for the intermediate stage, The researcher used the descriptive and analytical method, and designed an analysis tool, The content of science operations, and verified its validity and consistency, and after using percentages and ranks for statistical treatment, the research reached the following results: The number of practical experiments varies from one class to another in the intermediate stage, where the highest percentage ap

The study revealed weaknesses and strengths in the textbooks’ content. For instance, a number of science process skills (SPS), such as measuring, predicting and hypothesizing, have been neglected in the 11th grade textbook. For all three textbooks content, the maximum percentage of basic science process skills (BSPS) was devoted to observation. However, the maximum percentage of integrated science process skills (ISPS) was different for each grade: experimenting had the highest percentage for 10th grade, interpreting data for 11th grade, and operational definitions for 12th
