Metthods:: A retrospective study of seventy patients with nephrotic syndrome with age range of 1-14 years, who were diagnosed and treated in Child's Central Teaching Hospital over the period of 1st of January and 1st of July 2008.
The patients were divided into three groups; frequent relapses group, infrequent relapses group and undetermined group. We compared between frequent relapses group and infrequent relapses group in regard to age, sex, type of presentation, biochemical findings which include; total serum protein, serum albumin and renal function test, precipitation factors, family history of renal disease, the time needed to respond to steroid therapy, duration of maintenance steroid therapy and type of renal biopsy.
Res ull tts :: The peak incidence of nephrotic syndrome was at 1-5 years, and male to female ratio was 2.3:1. There was significant correlation of age and type of steroid response in nephrotic syndrome(P 0.042), and no significant correlation regarding sex(P 0.571). The relation of frequent relapsing and infrequent relapsing type with age and sex was not significant(P 0.864, 0.69 respectively), but hematuria had significant relation(P 0.036). Family history of nephrotic syndrome, early response to steroid therapy and the prolonged duration of maintenance steroid therapy were statistically significant in correlation with frequent relapses and infrequent relapses of nephrotic syndrome(P 0.05, 0.016, 0.024 respectively). There was significant difference in correlation of type of steroid response and type of relapse(P 0.001), and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is prominent in frequent relapsing type(66.7%), while the minimal change type was prominent in infrequent relapsing nephrotic syndrome(40%). Conc llus iions :: There was significant correlation between family history of nephrotic syndrome, hematuria, response to steroid therapy, short duration of maintenance steroid therapy and type of steroid therapy response with occurrence of frequent relapses in nephrotic syndrome. There was increasing incidence of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in frequent relapses.

Schiff bases, named after Hugo Schiff, are aldehyde- or ketone-like compounds in which the carbonyl group is replaced by imine or azomethine group. They are widely used for industrial purposes and also have a broad range of applications as antioxidants. An overview of antioxidant applications of Schiff bases and their complexes is discussed in this review. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of cortisol, and it is related to BMI in the chronic diseases which may increase early cardiovascular disease (CVD) in old Iraqi. The subjects were 116 adults, aged 51-71 years. Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Circumferences (WC) and Waist Hip Ratio (WHR) were used as a measure of adiposity. In this research two series of the new derivatives of Trimethoprim and paracetamol drugs have been prepared which known as a high medicinal effectiveness. Series (A) is including the interaction of diazonium salt of trimethoprim and coupling with some substituted phenol compounds (2-amino phenol, 3-ethyl phenol, 1-naphthol, 2-nitro phenol, Salbutamol). Series (B) is including the interaction coupling alkali solution of paracetamol with diazonium salt of some substituted aniline compounds (Benzedine, 2, 3-di chloro aniline, Trimethoprim, Anilinium chloride, 2-nitro- 4-chloro aniline).Chemical structures of all synthesized compounds were confirmed by UV-visible and FTIR spectroscopy.

It was confirmed in this research that the ligand calcichrome formed stable complex with calcium ion at pH of 8.5 which verified by UV/Vis and FTIR spectral analysis and the complexation occurred via hydroxyl groups .
The stoichiometric ratio of the formed complex was found to be 1:1 by mole ratio and continuous variation methods . Dry ashing method of the complex and flame emission photometric analysis offered a calcium percentage in calcium complex equal 4.5% with an error of 2.41% due to experimental errors .
Abstract Drug addiction is considered a criminal behavior, which led the Iraqi legislator to prohibit and criminalize it, imposing penalties on those who use or even approach it. This aims to limit its presence in Iraq and reduce unethical behaviors, leveraging the divine prohibition to curb it. The legislator also encourages media organizations to raise awareness about the dangers of this substance, which has contributed to reducing the phenomenon of drugs in Iraq.
