Extra-Anatomic prosthetic bypass grafts in management of Sub-inguinal vascular infections
...Show More Authors

Infection at the site of vascular anastomosis is a serious complication of vascular surgery and is associated with a high limb loss and mortality rate. The classical method of management is ligation of the injured artery, adequate wound debridement and restoration of circulation. The latter is achieved by either in situ or extra-anatomic bypass. If the distal circulation is not maintained, subsequent amputation is most likely.
Objectives: In this study we tried to assess the efficacy of extra-anatomic synthetic bypass grafts in the treatment of vascular infection in the groin to save the limb and avoid the inevitable amputation.
Methods: Between January 2006 and December 2007, ten male patients aged twenty to thirty five years (mean=27.3years), with previous vascular surgery (reversed saphenous vein grafting) for sub-inguinal penetrating injuries complicated with infection and bleeding were admitted and managed surgically in the Department of Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Surgical Specialties Hospital, Medical City Teaching Complex, Baghdad. These patients were studied retrospectively regarding their demographic and clinical features as well as details of the operative procedures and surgical outcome.
All patients received emergency wound debridement, arterial ligation and extra-anatomic synthetic (PTFE) bypass grafts (External iliac or common femoral to distal superficial femoral or popliteal artery, six routed laterally and four routed medially in the thigh away from the original surgical field).
Results: Excellent results were obtained in nine patients who saved amputation while one patient ended with above knee amputation. No mortality recorded.
Conclusion: Extra-anatomic bypass is a useful approach in dealing with infected and disrupted vascular anastomosis and can be used in emergency as well as elective situations as mentioned in most literatures.

Neurological Perfectionism in Talented Individuals with Disabilities “Case Study”
...Show More Authors

The study aims to identify the neurological perfectionism of talented girls with disabilities and do a case study for one of these girls. The sample of the study consisted of (11) female students at the university level, 5 females with disability and (6) normal female-students. The sample also included (19) secondary school female students in Tabuk region, including 10 students with visual disability and (9) normal students. The case study was limited to one case of mentally superior girls (talented) with kinetic disability. The researcher adopted the descriptive methodology (case study), he used neurological perfectionism scale, Salah Mekhemar interview, Stanford interfacial intelligence scale fifth picture, case study form. Studying HLA class I polymorphism in brain tumour patients
...Show More Authors

The present study aimed at shed light on the association between HLA-class I antigens (A, B and Cw) and brain tumours (meningioma and glioma) in the basis of their individual frequencies or two-locus association A total of 52 brain tumour patients were enrolled in this study, with an age range of 7-68 years. The patients were divided into two clinical groups; meningioma (20 cases) and glioma (22 cases), while the remaining 10 cases represented other types of brain tumour. Control samples included 47 Iraqi Arab apparently healthy blood volunteers, with an age range of 15-50 year. Three HLA antigens showed a significant increased frequency in total patients as compared to controls. They were B13 (34.6 vs. 6.5%), B40 (15.4 vs. 2.2%) and Cw3

Pilot Based Channel Estimation and Synchronization in OFDM System
...Show More Authors

Channel estimation and synchronization are considered the most challenging issues in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system. OFDM is highly affected by synchronization errors that cause reduction in subcarriers orthogonality, leading to significant performance degradation. The synchronization errors cause two issues: Symbol Time Offset (STO), which produces inter symbol interference (ISI) and Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO), which results in inter carrier interference (ICI). The aim of the research is to simulate Comb type pilot based channel estimation for OFDM system showing the effect of pilot numbers on the channel estimation performance and propose a modified estimation method for STO with less numb

Laplace Distribution And Probabilistic (bi) In Linear Programming Model
...Show More Authors

The theory of probabilistic programming  may be conceived in several different ways. As a method of programming it analyses the implications of probabilistic variations in the parameter space of linear or nonlinear programming model. The generating mechanism of such probabilistic variations in the economic models may be due to incomplete information about changes in demand, production and technology, specification errors about the econometric relations presumed for different economic agents, uncertainty of various sorts and the consequences of imperfect aggregation or disaggregating of economic variables. In this Research we discuss the probabilistic programming problem when the coefficient bi is random variable

Since its inception, the theatrical performance has been based on the principle of permanence, continuity, renewal and innovation in the structure of its visual elements. These innovations and the effectiveness of continuity cannot be achieved without searching for everything that is new and different at the level (form and content) in order to create an image with innovative and effective features in the theatrical discourse, and from Among the elements of the theatrical performance (theatrical costumes) that have been subject to variation since the beginning of the theater until now, and for this purpose, the current research was conducted with the question of the research problem: What are the variations of costumes in the contemporar

Wielands Hauptwerk die Geschichte des Agathon (1766/73,1794) ist

Beim Lesen des Romans findet man unzählige (über 70) Namen aus der

Prevention in Healthcare Practice: An issue with Rising Importance
...Show More Authors

Plentiful of healthcare practice is based on a disease/treatment approach rather than a prevention one.  That is, the predominant focus is on treating existing symptoms and conditions that bring the patient to healthcare setting. There is no doubt about the significance of this approach for acute conditions, but there is some question whether this is the most efficient and effective way of distributing healthcare for increasing number of diseases and limited resources.

The evidences from everywhere have showed the profound cost benefit of prevention in healthcare practice. Healthy community, therefore, is the ultimate aim in any health services planning. The priority of care giver is shifted now to promote health and prevent
