Serum Biomarkers are Promising Tools to Predict Traumatic Brain Injury Outcome
...Show More Authors

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is still considered a worldwide leading cause of mortality and morbidity. Within the last decades, different modalities were used to assess severity and outcome including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), imaging modalities, and even genetic polymorphism, however, determining the prognosis of TBI victims is still challenging requiring the emerging of more accurate and more applicable tools to surrogate other old modalities

A Comparative Study for Supervised Learning Algorithms to Analyze Sentiment Tweets
...Show More Authors

Twitter popularity has increasingly grown in the last few years, influencing life’s social, political, and business aspects. People would leave their tweets on social media about an event, and simultaneously inquire to see other people's experiences and whether they had a positive/negative opinion about that event. Sentiment Analysis can be used to obtain this categorization. Product reviews, events, and other topics from all users that comprise unstructured text comments are gathered and categorized as good, harmful, or neutral using sentiment analysis. Such issues are called polarity classifications. This study aims to use Twitter data about OK cuisine reviews obtained from the Amazon website and compare the effectiveness

Retrofitting Reinforced Concrete One–Way Damaged Slabs Exposed to High Temperature
...Show More Authors

Exposure of reinforced concrete buildings to an accidental fire may result in cracking and loss in the bearing capacity of their major components, columns, beams, and slabs. It is a challenge for structural engineers to develop efficient retrofitting techniques that enable RC slabs to restore their structural integrity, after being exposed to intense fires for a long period of time. Experimental
investigation was carried out on twenty one slab specimens made of self compacting concrete, eighteen of them are retrofitted with CFRP sheets after burning and loading till failure while three of them (which represent control specimens) are retrofitted with CFRP sheet after loading till failure without burning. All slabs had been tested in a

Linguistic research according to modern curricula:
It is one of the important matters that occupy the ideas of those concerned with linguistic studies, whether Arabic or otherwise. Recent years have witnessed the advancement of this methodological approach, and books and studies in Arabic have been written on important, multifaceted issues, of grammatical and linguistic origins, and their balance with new developments and ideas attracted mostly from Western studies.
The comparative approach - as they call it - is one of the modern approaches that is based on balancing a language with other sisters belonging to its family, to reach similarities and differences between them, and to know the c

Cognitive bias and its relation to emotional thinking among university students
...Show More Authors

The study aims to identify the cognitive bias and the level of emotional thinking among university students, besides, identifying the significant differences between male and female students regarding those two variables, and determine if there is a correlation between cognitive bias and emotional thinking. To this end, two scales were adopted to collect needed data: cognitive bias scale designed by (Al-any, 2015), composed of (14) items, and emotional thinking scale designed by (Abdu Allah, 2017), consisted of (27) items. These two scales were administered to (140) students composed the study sample. They were chosen from four different colleges at Al-mustansiriyah University for the academic year (2017-1018). The findings revealed that

Automated Methods to Segment Kidneys and Detect Tumors Using CT Images
...Show More Authors

Kidney tumors are of different types having different characteristics and also remain challenging in the field of biomedicine. It becomes very important to detect the tumor and classify it at the early stage so that appropriate treatment can be planned. The main objective of this research is to use the Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) algorithms to help the early detection of kidney tumors. In this paper, tried to implement an automated segmentation methods of gray level CT images is used to provide information such as anatomical structure and identifying the Region of Interest (ROI) i.e. locate tumor, lesion and other in kidney.
A CT image has inhomogeneity, noise which affects the continuity and accuracy of the images segmentation. In

Study to the Main Effects on the Auger de-excitation Transition
...Show More Authors

An Eigen-state expansion method is applied to the transition of the Auger de-excitation charge transfer (AD) process in the interaction between clean Cu,Al and Na surfaces and excited incident gases H and He .We use this method to describe the effective surfaces electronic structure. It's shown that the AD efficiency is deeply influenced by the presence of the energy band for the surfaces and the potential energy stored within the excited incident atom, thus for long interaction time we use a slowly atom's about 1KeV to scatter from metals surfaces where the electron couldn't probe the metal band structure and Za the surface - projectile distance. Also we drive a new formula for AD interaction Matrix element
